“Pop! Goes My Heart” Vid
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.20, 2007, under articles
From the movie, “Music and Lyrics”, comes this 80′s spinoff, “Pop! Goes My Heart”. It’s a cute song and it’s very reminiscent of 80′s hair bands like A-Ha, Duran Duran, and Spandeau Ballet. This music video opens the movie and from thereonin, it’s stuck in your head. Enjoy!

Earsucker… Is that what you are going with>? Not sure if i should be typing you.. or whoever had the blurb about Crash Davis.. but thought i would chime in….
Not sure if you have been to any show or not, but would love some feedback if you have…
If you have and if you are just going to take time out of your day to literally disrespect a band that you have no ties to.. please take the time to get they lyrics right that you are dogging.. If you want to be taken seriously that is a great first step……. You can’t say something is absolutely horrible.. couldn’t get through the first song yada yada yada… and then quote lyrics.. that aren’t in the song.. It’s unprofessonal and makes you look like an ass..
In the future when you are taking time out of your day to criticize a band that you know little about, i wanted to let you know they were just named Singer Songwriter of the Year by the LA Music Awards.. and had one of their songs in a majore motion picture (Lucy Lui, Stockard Channing, etc.)….
Enter snide comment here…
Thanks…
But honestly… why so much animostity for someone you don’t even know? Do you really feel that much bettter?
Good work…

Britney Is Bald, Y’all
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.17, 2007, under articles
I’m still not sure what possessed Britney to shave off her locks. One thing is clear, this is a message: Britney needs help. The pop princess had a one day stint in rehab, then comes back to L.A., and shaves her head, completely bald. Afterwards, she goes to a tattoo shop and gets new tats.
Is Britney Spears having a breakdown? I’m no psychiatrist, but I’m going to guess that all signs point to yes. A renown pop star at a young age and having the world at her feet, Britney could have anything she wanted. She made number one hits, got married and divorced in two years, and has spawned two children. She can afford to spend $20,000 a night on classy hotel rooms and have just about anything or anyone (except maybe Justin).
Like the girl in her song “Lucky”, maybe there’s something missing in her life:
Shes so lucky, shes a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking
If theres nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night
Britney now looks lost and burnt out and in need of support and help from her family and friends. As a non-celebrity, I’d say that when you’re confronted by a ton of cameras flashing and people taking note of your every move, there has to be a need for privacy and respect. It sounds to me as if she wants to be left alone, so maybe she can find herself.
Is there a new Britney in the works? Only time will tell.
The Police reunite for reunion tour
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.13, 2007, under articles
Per The Hollywood Reporter, The Police have declared their intentions for a tour starting May 28, 2007:
An old recording was played before the Police took the stage Monday at the Whisky a Go-Go in West Hollywood to announce their world tour. An interviewer on the tape asked whether Sting could conceive of an instance when the hugely popular trio would reunite. The singer replied that if that ever happened, he would be found “certifiably insane.”
Well, call out the whitecoats because singer-bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland have reunited after two decades for a global jaunt that begins May 28 in Vancouver. The first 14 dates — including two at Madison Square Garden in New York and a headlining show at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival outside Nashville — were confirmed during the event, which doubled as a rehearsal, with the band playing a handful of Police tunes.
I am sure that fans will eat this up. I can already hear “Roxanne” in my head, live.
Coroner cites cocktail of drugs as culprit of Levert death
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.12, 2007, under articles
Gerald Levert, a popular R&B singer from Cleveland died last fall from a lethal combination of painkillers and antihistamines.
Via Playfuls.com:
Geauga County Coroner Kevin Chartrand said. He found in Levert’s body a cocktail of drugs, which included the narcotic pain relievers Vicodin, Percocet and Darvocet, along with anxiety medication Xanax and two over-the-counter antihistamines.
The R&B singer Gerald Levert, one of several from the musical Levert family, died unexpectedly Nov. 10 at his home in Newbury, Ohio, outside Cleveland, of a heart attack. The official cause of death was acute intoxication, and the death was ruled accidental.
Via Wikipedia:
Andy Gibson, a family spokesman, said Levert was taking the pain medication because of chronic pain from a lingering shoulder problem and surgery in 2005 to repair a severed Achilles tendon.
Levert is best known for his hits, “Casanova” and “Baby Hold Onto Me”. His talent will be missed by many.
