Blake & Jordin kissy-faced?
by Roberta Ferguson on May.31, 2007, under articles
Are Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks an item? I don’t know, but I do know this: If this kiss is for real, then they look like they have been put up to this. Jeezus, I sure thought Blake would’ve been a little smoother than that.
Check this out:
Poor kids, they look retarded here.

This is just too freakin’ funny not to share. I found this on Digg and I laughed through the whole thing. Is this what we’re coming to when songs don’t make sense and the lyrics are just crap?
Enjoy!
New vid: Hilary Duff “Stranger”
by Roberta Ferguson on May.30, 2007, under articles
With an Indian-like techno vibe to it, we have this new video from Hilary Duff. In this song, she details how her significant other is all ‘gaga’ over her when people are around, but when she’s the only one around, he’s someone she doesn’t know.
I wonder if she’s referring to anyone in particular?
It doesn’t come close to Kelly Clarkson’s new one, but good effort, Hilary, we all know you can rhyme. “With Love” was your best song to date. What’s next?
Britney addresses her fan, I mean “fans”
by Roberta Ferguson on May.30, 2007, under articles
Posted on her website, I found this long message from Britney Spears to her fans.
Dear Fans,
I just wanted to reach out to all of you and explain some of the things that I have been faced with recently.
It’s so funny how many stories are put out there about people. It’s like we all want our side of the story out there as well, but at the end of the day only a few people care to hear what is really going on since the bad is always so much more interesting than the truth. I don’t know why, but this is so weird to me. I used to be angry at the tabloids for printing horrible things about me, but now I try to just be numb to what I see. I saw Tyra Banks once get really upset and cry on her show because they made her look fat. We all want a certain image of ourselves out there, and at some point we all do really care what other people think or we wouldn’t be here.
Recently, I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock bottom. Till this day I don’t think that it was alcohol or depression. I was like a bad kid running around with ADD. I had a manager from a long time ago come in and try to direct me and my life after I got my divorce. I was so overwhelmed I think that I was in a little shock too. I didn’t know who to go to. I realized how much energy and love I had put into my past relationship when it was gone because I genuinely did not know what to do with myself, and it made me so sad. I confess, I was so lost.
This letter is to not place blame on anyone, although I do see the world with a completely different set of eyes now. Being in that vulnerable state and taken to dinners and parties with friends and finding out later you paid for everything was a huge learning lesson for me. I think the whole problem was letting too many people into my life. You never know another persons intentions or what another person wants. I feel I was too open and looking for answers when I had it all to begin with. I have had to cut so many people out of my life. It is so sad, because if anyone is a family person…it is me. When I was little I remember every night watching movies with my family and feeling so at peace. Dancing and singing all the time just like a little girl should. Now recently I find with my children that I want them to have that feeling all of the time. I am having to face a lot of things right now since I have children of my own. A lot of insecurities from when I was little are coming up again. It is like we are never good enough.
I know everyone thinks that I am playing the victim, but I am not and I hate what is going on right now so much. Maybe this is the reason for this letter…to maybe allow people to look at me differently. It is like when you are a real woman and say what you feel and how you think things are supposed to be, that people just say you are a “bitch.”
I feel like some of the people in my life made more of some issues than was necessary. I also feel like they knew I was beginning to use my brain for a change and cut some ties, so they wanted to be in more control of my life than me. I think it is actually normal for a young girl to go out after a huge divorce. I think it was a bigger issue because I had not gone out in such a long time. I am 25 and I do still have a lot to learn, and I am going to make mistakes everyday, and I am sure every mistake I make will probably be on CNN or Good Morning America. I am only human people and I love you for still loving me.
I am sitting here at home and it is 6:25 and both of my sons are asleep. I am truly blessed to have them in my life. Everyday is so surreal. Life in general is so surreal and crazy.
I just hope this letter made some of you think a little bit more of me and where I am coming from. I just want the same things in life that you want…and that is to be happy. It is just so weird because everyone has their own perception of me and how they think I really am. It is so weird how stories are told. There is your side, my side, and the truth. Somebody has to figure it out. I guess we will never really understand or figure out life completely. That’s God’s job. I can’t wait to meet him…or her.
Love, Britney
Quote of the month…
It is ok to disagree with people regarding certain issues. YouÂ’re not being true to yourself if you succumb to others opinions because you feel guilty.
So, blah blah blah, she wants everyone to think she’s a good mother now, blah blah blah. I guess all those people posting stuff like “Where’s tater tot and small fry?” really got to her.

Okay, so I’m excited. I got a brand spanking new phone from Sprint, as a part of their Ambassador program, free. This rocks! So they want feedback, I’ll give them feedback :)
Check this puppy out:
Isn’t it just sweet? I’ve had it since late yesterday and can’t stop playing with it. On one side you have the phone and camera, and on the other, you have the media player. I just figured out that I could watch E! on this thing.
Thanks Sprint, I love it! And I also love the six months free.
A song for Lindsay Lohan

Lily Allen & Debbie Harry perform “Heart of Glass”
by Roberta Ferguson on May.29, 2007, under articles
On May 25, 2007, Debbie Harry took the stage on the Today show, with fan and pop sensation, Lily Allen. They performed “Heart of Glass”. This just goes to show ya that Blondie still has it. The crowd was singing along with delight, but how could you not? This is Blondie, for chrissakes!
All of the children of the eighties know and love this song or any other by Blondie. Also of note is that Blondie has a new album coming out called, “Necessary Evil”.
Check out this vid of the performance:
I don’t know if I cared too much for Lily’s singing style on several parts of this song, but it’s still a staple of 80′s rock. Enjoy.
Music Review: Guns & Roses: Appetite For Destruction
by Roberta Ferguson on May.29, 2007, under articles
1987 was a big year for Guns & Roses and their fans. They came out with a hit record, “Appetite For Destruction”. This spawned such hits as, “Welcome To The Jungle”, “Paradise City”, and of course, “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.
Axl Rose had some wild hair back in the day. Also wild was his singing, being cool and sometimes angry-sounding, and was only dwarfed by Slash’s guitar playing. I remember seeing the “Sweet Child O’ Mine” video for the first time on MTV (do they still play videos?!?).
In “Welcome To The Jungle”, Axl is strapped to an electric chair and looks like a crazed lunatic. This was a high time for the band, as they were on top of the world. Axl brought a mainstream hard rock edge to this album and won over a larger audience.
Now, the world waits on “Chinese Democracy” to be released. This is an album ten years in the making. Better put that out soon guys, you’re losing your fan base. People are going to forget you exist, because they get tired of waiting.
In the music industry, as an artist, you’re nothing without your fans.
For now, let’s remember the ‘snake-dance’ and have a rockin’ vid from the band when Slash was still a part of it and they were still cool:
Lily Allen disses LiLo
by Roberta Ferguson on May.28, 2007, under articles
On her blog, Lily Allen had this to say about Lindsay Lohan:
After that we went to this club called Les Deux , and that was really fun untill Linsay Lohan arrived and had us thrown off our table , I know shes a huge star an all , and famous people deserve to sit down especially when they’ve been working so hard , but whatevs . Linday our thoughts are with you as you go through this difficult time in your life ( she got arrested this weekend ) in the words of Timbaland and Timberlake ” what goes around …………..”
It’s all about karma! You kick a good singer out of a table because you think you’re the princess or something?!? Does LiLo think she’s royalty?
I think that ought to make Lily “Smile”.
Get ‘er, Lily!
Music Review: Def Leppard “Pyromania”
by Roberta Ferguson on May.28, 2007, under articles
In 1983, the radio was inundated with music along the likes of New Kids on the Block and Debbie Gibson. At the tender age of nine, I was introduced to Def Leppard’s third album, “Pyromania” by my uncle Ronnie.
Listening to this album gives you such a good old-fashioned 80′s vibe, now. Back then, it was the coolest thing ever. I took this music back with me and have listened to Def Leppard ever since.
Gunter glieben glauten globen.
That’s enough to start off an awesome rock song. That song would be “Rock of ages”, which brought on an invasion, which would be the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. “Rock of ages” is still a song that everyone would recognize and sing along with.
“Rock! Rock! (‘Til You Drop)” really needs no introduction at all. It’s an upbeat song with a hard rock beat. It’s a get-up-and-go song. This is played when I go for a walk at work, it’s very motivational.
Most notable is the song, “Photograph”, in which the video details a story about Marilyn Monroe. This song really shows off Joe Elliott’s vocals and this is where he brought in the union jack.
The record ends with “Billy’s Got A Gun”, which is a number that slowed the record down. It’s a perfect ending to a great beginning. I still remember listening to the 45 and the scratching sound at the end of this song.
R.I.P. Steve Clark.
Happy Birthday to Siouxsie Sioux!

Within Temptation rocks! “The howling” vid
by Roberta Ferguson on May.27, 2007, under articles
With a sound that’s a little more commercial ala Evanescence, here’s “The howling” by Within Temptation. It seems to have a lot of the elements that “Bring me to life” had. Listen closely. This woman has a great voice, kinda reminiscent of Amy Lee.
What do you think?
Nikki Sixx vid: Life is beautiful
by Roberta Ferguson on May.25, 2007, under articles
Nikki Sixx has been through it all; Being declared dead and having been revived by a paramedic who was a Motley Crue fan, drug overdoses, and a legendary status.
He definitely has a reason to think life is beautiful. Having had such songwriting success and being on top of the world with a new book, The Heroin Diaries, and Sixx:AM’s new single, “Life is beautiful”:
Nikki Sixx is a rock icon and I’ll buy just about anything this guy releases.
Doc Martens can suck it
by Roberta Ferguson on May.25, 2007, under articles
You gotta love Kurt Cobain, who doesn’t, right? Nirvana was the biggest name in Seattle grunge.
So why are these clowns at Doc Martens are taking dead rock stars and photoshopping them into their dumb boots?!?? Bad PR move, retard.
“Dr. Martens is very sorry for any offense that has been caused by the publication of images showing dead rock icons wearing Dr. Martens boots,” the company said in a statement to E! Online. “Dr. Martens did not commission the work as it runs counter to our current marketing activities based on FREEDM, which is dedicated to nurturing grass roots creativity and supporting emerging talent.
Dumb dumb dumb…even though UK law will allow you to use the photos, maybe sheer class should’ve won out in the end?
Update: They apologized.
See Jordin Sparks win it all here
by Roberta Ferguson on May.24, 2007, under articles
At the very end of the show, Ryan Seacrest announced the winner of American Idol.
Here, she sings her new single, “This is my now”. She seemed utterly filled with glee and emotion. So, with this, the most boring season of American Idol is over:
Blake Lewis looked too happy for Jordin. He’s probably jumping for joy that he doesn’t have to sing this song on his album, when it comes out. Cuz, you know Blake is going to get a record deal, that way he can have all of the creative control he wants. He can beat-box the heck outta whatever he wants.

Your new American Idol: Jordin Sparks
by Roberta Ferguson on May.23, 2007, under articles
At the very last minute of the show, it was announced, which goes to show you that’s all you really have to watch. I got home at 9:30pm tonight and didn’t miss much, if you consider Bette Midler took the stage. She did “The wing beneath my wings” and she killed her own song. Murdered it! Poor thing.
Tonight is Jordin’s “Now” that she keeps singing on and on about. Have it Jordin, I need a nap.
Congrats to Jordin and thanks to Blake’s super-suckage from last night’s performance, Jordin was crowned the sixth American Idol. She did that crybaby crap again. Wahh wahh wahh…I won…..blah
Scott Stapp is still a jerk
by Roberta Ferguson on May.23, 2007, under Uncategorized
Scott Stapp emailed a local radio host, Drew Garabo, with this message:
First of all I would like to express how thankfull and appreciative my
family is for the tremendeous outpouring of love and support we have received
during this insecure time in our marriage. I was shocked at how many have
rallied around us.
I am truly sorry and seek forgiveness from my wife. As she has done the same
seeking forgiveness from me. We both know we were wrong in how we handled the
argument and in some of the allegations that were made.. Now we are tring to
move forward as a family.
Things were stated to the police in the heat of anger that were not
completely accurate. Things have been said to the media and reported after the
fact that are not accurate as well.
As in most cases like this, the next day everyone is sorry and wishes they
didn’t get the police involved and said what they did about their partner. We
are no different.
My wife and I love eachother very much and are activley seeking support to
help us resolve this tough time and bring our loving family back together as one
Together, with counciling, as well as working on changing area’s of our lives
in a mutual effort to learn, grow, and mature positivley as a Mother, Father,
Husband, Wife, and Spiritual human bieng, we will overcome this:)
We would also like to apologize to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Dept.for
calling them to our home and taking them away from the very serious and
dangerous job of protecting our community. Anyone that was effected negativly
please forgive us as well?
We would also like to ask that the media please allow our family to heal
during this painfull time and remember we have children. So please take that
into consideration and respect our privacy and let this go. I know you would
want the same if the tables were turned.
We know, Scott, Jaclyn is really sorry she called 911 because you’re an idiot. I feel for your children.
Did Blake throw the show?
by Roberta Ferguson on May.23, 2007, under articles
According to some reports, it appears that Blake Lewis is trying to throw the show:
During tonight’s episode, the first thing that might clue you in to Blake’s mindset was his decision to perform first after he won the coin flip (AND after asking Jordin whether she wanted to go first). It’s always beneficial to perform last, in terms of making a lasting impression on the Idol voters (this may not be scientifically proven, but it sure seems to be the case). Blake’s lack of nervousness is another red flag. He does not seem at all invested in the competition and looks as if he only really cares about going out there and having a good time. If he really wanted to win American Idol, we’d probably sense at least a little stress out of him.
I guess it would make a lot of sense if he didn’t win American Idol tonight. Jordin Sparks would be happy because she won the record deal and can make America’s next pop album. And Blake Lewis could still get a record deal and have all kinds of creative control, and still make the type of music he enjoys making.
I applaud Blake for being a gentleman in letting Jordin go first, but who actually thought he had enough talent to win it?
America has already voted, it’s basically over, they just haven’t told us yet. We want to congratulate Jordin Sparks in advance, just because. Blake didn’t seem nervous at all, and then you have Jordin, who had to toss in the crying/whining at the end.
Jordin Sparks does “This is my now”
by Roberta Ferguson on May.23, 2007, under articles
Ahhh, the whiney crybaby nonsense at the end sure got her some votes:
I still wasn’t thrilled at all with her performance. Melinda would’ve done it better. Any chance of that happening?
