I couldn’t understand a word

by on Jun.27, 2007, under articles

Check out this video by Predator, titled “Osirus”:

The song starts off slow, but gains some speed in the middle. It’s a good track for all of us death metallers out there, but I couldn’t understand a word of it. Maybe that’s the point.

I still sing along with Slayer and Megadeth, so maybe publishing some lyrics will give people a feel of what the music is about. Until then, we’ll just bang our heads.

Tidbits for today

by on Jun.26, 2007, under articles

Britney celebrates Paris’ release by showing herself, again.

Fifty and Fergie, holding hands….awwww

Does anyone still care about Foxy Brown? ummm…didn’t think so.

Maybe Clive Davis was right and Kelly Clarkson should’ve taken the money to scrap some songs from My December?

The BET awards have everything, so you don’t need to buy them anything for Christmas.

Rihanna hits brother with a glass bottle

by on Jun.26, 2007, under articles

Per Starpulse, I’ve found that Rihanna once attacked her brother with a glass bottle:

She tells Complex magazine, “We talk all the time now, but we used to fight – and when I say fight, I don’t mean arguments; I mean physically fight. I hit the older one (brother) in the face with a glass bottle… My mom was pretty upset.”

This isn’t really news unless the attack was made using an umbrella, ala Britney Spears.

Slayer & Marilyn Manson: A match made in heaven?

by on Jun.21, 2007, under articles

VS

Slayer and Marilyn Manson are going to be touring together, starting July 25th. Can Marilyn Manson hang with the likes of Kerry King and company? We soon shall see.

Since both of these acts are way different and in their own class of goth/rock versus speed metal. Slayer will be taking the stage first, followed by Manson.

Here, Kerry King talks about the tour and the likely event that Slayer fans will be exiting stage left when Marilyn Manson comes out with a goofy song:

“It’s definitely going to be weird,” he admitted. “My whole thing is, it depends on what Manson plays, whether our kids stay or not. If he comes out and plays ‘Tainted Love,’ half the place is going to leave. No offense to Manson — I’m just saying what’s up. I want him to come out and kick ass, because I’m an old-school fan. He can succeed on this tour, if he chooses the right set.”

I figure the Manson crowd is a little goth rock and metal combined, but Slayer has some hardcore fans. How can they mosh? We will soon find out.

Def Leppard’s Jimmy Kimmel performance cancelled

by on Jun.21, 2007, under articles

Per Def Leppard.com:

Since all episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live taking place from June 22 to June 25 have been cancelled, we are sorry to report that this Friday’s show, where Def Leppard was supposed to perform, will not take place. Unfortunately we do not have any further details, but the show’s production company ensured us that thet are working on rescheduling the band for a future episode.

Well that just sucks. I was looking forward to seeing them on the show. Hopefully they will reschedule my favorite 80′s band for another show.

Until then, enjoy this vid:

Hillary Clinton & that sucky Celine Dion song

by on Jun.20, 2007, under articles

Just like a chick to pick some goofy crap like this. She chose “You & I” by Celine Dion as her campaign song. Dumb. Dumb! Dumb!!!!

If she really wanted to take a stance, she should’ve chose “We’re not gonna take it” by Twisted Sister. Hello, McFly?!??!

“We’re right, we’re free,
We’ll fight, you’ll see
We’re not gonna take it”

Ron Paul, if you’re out there, please don’t pick a stupid campaign song. Dee Snider and I beg of you.

Motley Crue sue, sue, sue

by on Jun.19, 2007, under articles

Motley Crue have initiated legal action against one of their managers, Carl Stubner, yesterday. They are claiming that he made business decisions with his own best interests in mind and gave Tommy Lee bad advice:

Not only did Lee’s participation in the reality shows Tommy Lee Goes to College on NBC and Rock Star: Supernova on CBS get in the way of Mötley Crüe’s 2005 Red, White & Crue tour and plans to record a new studio album, costing the band’s annual revenue to fall to only $19 million in 2006, but the NBC series’ “inane overtones” made Lee look “incoherent, lazy and incompetent,” alleges the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

They are also claiming that the show Rock Star has made Tommy Lee look like less of a rock star. Like mooning the crowd at every show wouldn’t do that, eh?

Britney’s billboard bout

by on Jun.19, 2007, under articles

Ding, ding, ding. And in this corner, we have Britney Spears, represented by Lynda Goldman…..and in this corner, we have that DJ guy from Florida.

These are the pictures:

This is just too freakin’ funny. So ClearChannel puts up these billboards with a deranged looking Britney? So what? She shaved her own head and she looked stupid all on her own.

Spelling to Spears: You suck!

by on Jun.18, 2007, under articles

She didn’t say that, but she might as well have! Candy Spelling has been dipping her nose in other people’s business again. First she was ripping on Paris, then that Girls Gone Wild guy, and now Britney Spears.

Here are Candy’s words of wisdom:

“Dear Britney. Why, if you have to slither in and out of cars, do clumsy imitations of gymnasts and wear clothes that are just too tight, trashy or skimpy, do you have to pose in front of photographers all the time? We’ve seen the body parts, poses and clumsy attention-seeking tricks before. You’re wearing out your welcome. Some people never can turn away from a train wreck, so who can blame the photographers for waiting for your next one? Do you really want captions such as TMZ’s own ‘Victim of Pap Smear’ and ‘Does Britney Change Clothes for Cash’ to be your legacy? You can do much better.”

Candy, did you ever think Britney is over-compensating for a sucky new record.

Icky Thump on sunset strip

by on Jun.18, 2007, under articles

Rockers The White Stripes are going to be performing live at the sunset strip on Wednesday, June 20th, for an audience of 200 fans. Guess what? It’s free!

The ersatz sister/brother duo of Jack and Meg White will celebrate Tuesday’s (6/19) release of its new album, “Icky Thump,” by turning the landmark Sunset Strip storefront of the defunct Tower Records music chain into “Icky Thump Records.” The store will act as a real retail outfit this week, offering just one item for sale: the band’s new album.

Well, it’s free if you buy Icky Thump, but The White Stripes rock, so you wanna haul butt to get the record on LA at midnight. I wonder where they got the album title?

Bon Jovi turns down a $1 mil book deal

by on Jun.15, 2007, under articles

The band members of Bon Jovi are refusing to sell out to the tune of one milllllllllllionnnn dolllllllarrrssss.

I am sure that they have lived the lives of the true rock stars that they are, but they are keeping mum on any tell-alls:

Bon Jovi says, “One of those big publishers gave us a million dollars recently to write a book about our experiences but we just gave the money right back because it’s no one’s business.

“They wanted the cliched story about being a rock star and I’m not going to tell them. It doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, it just means isn’t there anything more important to talk about.”

They are probably just spotlighting this to bring new publicity to their new album. Good effort, guys.

Kelly Clarkson cancels tour

by on Jun.14, 2007, under articles

Maybe Miz Clarkson should’ve listened to Clive Davis and put out more commercial tunes. Instead she opted to make “My December” with all of tracks written by her. So, it comes as no surprise that she is canceling her tour now due to poor ticket sales:

“It is mind blowing when you stop to think about what Kelly Clarkson has achieved during her young career,” said Michael Rapino, CEO of LiveNation. “But ticket sales have not been what we anticipated and we came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew. In the end, we are in the Kelly Clarkson business and for that reason we believe that this decision will only benefit her and her fans in the long run.”

I like her song, “Never again” and the video. I guess the masses have spoken, though.

More Def Leppard news!

by on Jun.14, 2007, under articles

Def Leppard will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on June 22, 2007. I’ll be watching that to see what songs they perform and hopefully will be able to snag a video clip from youtube of it shortly thereafter.

Also, the tentatively named new album, “Songs from the Sparkle Lounge” has had some work done on it by the band. They’re saying that nearly 85-90% of the album is finished. Here’s hoping they come up with a different album title, because I still feel that one is a little dorky, even for an eighties band.

We all know how I feel about the title….

Lakisha Jones at Michigan state capitol

by on Jun.12, 2007, under articles

Lakisha Jones performed in Lansing, Michigan on June 11, 2007 much to the delight of her fans. She belted out “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” and “God Bless The Child” in front of her audience that day.

She made the “Idol” semifinals in February, got an on-camera kiss from sometimes-churlish “Idol” judge Simon Cowell and remained in the running until May 9, when she was outpolled by Melinda Doolittle, Blake Lewis and eventual winner Jordin Sparks.

Jones will participate in the “American Idol” tour this summer. She was to leave Tuesday for rehearsals in Los Angeles.

Michigan is proud of Jones, Granholm told the crowd. The governor also said she had voted for Jones.

Go Kiki, looking forward to that record. You can do it!
