Britney’s divorced y’all

by on Jul.31, 2007, under articles

According to reports, Britney Spears’ divorce to Kevin Federline is now finalized. I wonder how much the trainwreck star gave K-Fed to walk away? I’m sure he could pick up a nice expensive trailer for that kind of money.

It is rumoured that the couple will share custody of their two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston and ten-month-old Jayden James, while Federline is expected to receive spousal support.

Anyone know how much it takes to buy off trailer trash?

Paul Stanley is in the hospital

by on Jul.30, 2007, under articles

Via IOL, we’ve found that Paul Stanley of Kiss fame, is in the hospital.

Apparently, his heart was racing to the tune of 190 beats per minute, for over an hour! Good lord, I hope he’s okay. I’ve been a die hard Kiss fan since God knows when.

Band-mates Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer played the gig at Soboba Casino, California about 90 miles east of Los Angeles, as Stanley was taken to hospital.

“During sound check, my heart spontaneously jumped to 190 plus beats per minute where it stayed for over an hour necessitating paramedics to start an IV and give me a shot to momentarily stop my heart and get it into a normal pattern,” Stanley said on his website yesterday.

Album Review: Def Leppard – Hysteria

by on Jul.26, 2007, under articles

I know that I’m digging all of the way back to 1987 here, but I just couldn’t help myself. This is an album that I truly love and can listen to straight through without skipping songs. That’s a hard feat for me, because you know there is always that one crap song on most albums that you just have to get past to get to the better stuff.

The album starts off with the song, “Women”, which is a slow kind of starting song, then it gets cool. I love the video for this song, it’s great. Next song up is “Rocket” and the tempo of this number makes it an upbeat song that I can listen to when I want to get things done. Up next is “Animal”, which is one of the songs that helped make Hysteria a multi-platinum album. “Love Bites” is the song that you can listen to anywhere and know the lyrics immediately and sing along. We all know that sometimes love can suck, and this song explains that nicely. “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and “Armageddon It” are the best reasons why anyone nowadays picks up this album. Those are the two most popular songs on this album, in my opinion. One can never forget the rhythm of songs like “Hysteria” (one of my favorite videos) and “Love And Affection”. These are some powerful ballads, as well as some of the best written music out there.

I am a huge fan of Def Leppard’s music, as I grew up with them and their videos in the MTV era. I can listen to Def Leppard on any given day and find a song that would be suitable for any occasion.

Courtney Love’s mouth is hit!

by on Jul.25, 2007, under articles

Courtney Love posted on her website that she thinks her mouth is wonky and wants to go to a surgeon in Paris to have it fixed:

She writes, “My mouth still looks wonky, i think i gott go back to paris tot he dr (sic), hes not a cosmetic surgeon he just fixes bad surgery and also cleft palates and serious s**t. Its not really vanity, hes conservative (sic).”

I think she’s right, something is a little wonky about her. Hope that Paris surgeon can fix it.

Def Leppard’s Sparkle Lounge songs

by on Jul.25, 2007, under articles

I don’t think I need to tell you my thoughts on the title of their upcoming album, “Songs from the sparkle lounge”.

Are they going to Leppardize the title or leave it named after there recording area on the road? I’ve been a fan of their music ever since the early days and I hope this album has some great music on it. I’m fickle and was hoping for a better album title, but whining won’t get me anywhere….

According to Vivian Campbell, here are some of the working song titles for the new album:

Only the good die young
Cruise control
Give it away
Hallucination
Bad actress
Love

No one knows exactly how many of these song titles will make it to the album, but time will tell. I’m hoping that these songs rock. I know they will. Maybe this is just a reason for me to post more pictures of the hotness that is Joe Elliott.

Kelly and Clive: Nothing to see here

by on Jul.24, 2007, under articles

Kelly Clarkson says this on her website:

“There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of “My December,” much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it’s respect and admiration that will keep us together. A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive. Much of this has been blown way out of proportion and taken out of context. Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time. He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date. He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice. I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with. I am happy that my team is behind me and I look forward to the future.”

So, all that smack she was talking about Clive Davis was just crap? She didn’t mean it? I take back all those nice things I said about her. I thought she had spunk.

Guns & Roses without the Rose?

by on Jul.23, 2007, under articles

Via Starpulse, I’ve noticed that Guns & Roses are going to reunite, almost.
According to the source, they are all going to be at LA’s Key Club on the 28th for the 20th anniversary of Appetite for Destruction, except for Axl Rose. What kind of nonsense is this? Is Axl Rose dumb enough to not like the cash cow that once was Guns & Roses?

No offense to Scott Weiland, of course. He’s a rockin’ performer as well as a great artist. I’m just dying to hear “Patience” live.

Oh, and a little bit of advice for Mr. Rose: The dreads have jumped the shark…live ten years ago.

I got another new phone!

by on Jul.23, 2007, under articles

Sprint loves me….and of course, they rock. They sent me the new LG MusiQ phone. I can tell you this already, I absolutely love this phone.

I can’t even begin to illustrate all of the features on this baby…but I’ll give you a snippet. Previously, I received the Samsung Upstage phone from Sprint. While I loved the small nature of that phone, there were several things that I didn’t care for, like the need to flip the phone every two minutes when your texting someone or searching for music to add to your library.

This phone, however, has the added ease and functionality of any really spiffy new phone. It does not have the touch screen, though, but that’s not a drawback in my book. With this phone, I can watch SprintTV for any missed television shows, Cartoon Network, or Comedy Central, and of course, others.

I have already customized the theme to a pink princess theme, which I think is adorably cute. Also, on this phone, you can create melodies with a beat to assign as ringtones. You can also hum a tune and the phone will make something out of it. Another nifty feature is the FM transmitter, with that you can broadcast from your phone to the nearest radio. How cool is that?

It has GPS, on demand weather and news, and all other kinds of stuff. I’m not sure how much this phone retails for (‘cuz it’s mine gratis), but I’d pick it up if I were you. It’s slender and it’s the perfect phone.

I’d challenge any company to come close!

Megadeth and Metallica: Not in Moscow

by on Jul.21, 2007, under articles

According to Blabbermouth, Metallica was looking to have Megadeth play with them in Moscow. If I were Dave Mustaine, I’d tell James Hetfield to suck it. Their music hasn’t been good since the Black album, and that’s being nice. That album wasn’t a real credit to their older talent (ie: Master of Puppets) and Metallica should count themselves lucky that Dave Mustaine ever played with them.

Megadeth rocks. That’s just my two cents.

The White Stripes’ one note concert

by on Jul.21, 2007, under articles

At Icky Thump Records, the White Stripes played a quick one note concert for a swoon of fans:

That’s it? That’s all we get? Just a note? I guess, but the fans that were there ate it up.

Britney Spears is a skank

by on Jul.21, 2007, under articles

Like that’s something you didn’t know, right?

This hooker stops as she was going to drive off to spit out obscenities at a photographer. She’s making a comeback and has had nothing but bad PR since forever. This girl needs to take a rest and stop being such an ignorant hillbilly. I know that she has 800 tons of money, but jeezus, money can’t buy class.

I’d love to know what the Spanish speaking guy is saying in this clip. Here, the rehabbed Brit is cussing out that guy and stopping to get out and talk on her cell phone for the paparazzi. What an idiot.

I feel for her children. She went downhill when her and K-Fed got together and she’s been nothing but crap ever since. She has since become a disgusting caricature of herself.

Britney Spears’ “Get Back” Black Widow

by on Jul.20, 2007, under articles

We’ve heard word that Britney Spears is attempting her comeback with a new song, called “Get Back”. Little bits and pieces of what some people are calling her new song are all over YouTube.

Britney Spears is back in black for her new video, “Get Back,” after treating fans to a sneak peek at her new widowy look. The pop star donned a black dress and a black hat with a veil for the promo, which she shot in Malibu, California on Thursday.

Here is what one fan has on YouTube as a snippet of what the song sounds like:

Taylor Hicks – No one cares about your autobiography!

by on Jul.19, 2007, under articles

Via TMZ, I see that American Idol has-been Taylor Hicks has put out his very own autobiography:

In addition to covering his lackluster post-”Idol” career, the 272-page lullaby mentions how Hicks realized “Eminem has it right: when you only have one shot, you’d better lose yourself in the music.” Mission accomplished Taylor — you lost it alright!

Jeezus, and the Soul Patrol head hancho had to quote Eminem? That plan backfired on him to score some kudos. Hopefully, the book is better than his singing. I found AI5 to be a snooze-fest.

Led Zeppelin: The Ride

by on Jul.19, 2007, under articles

Rock icons Led Zeppelin are being honored in a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina rock-themed theme park:

Construction on Led Zeppelin’s new theme park rollercoaster ride has been completed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The speedy attraction, “Led Zeppelin – The Ride,” will open to the public at the new Hard Rock Park in 2008, as part of a number of rock-themed rides.

The six-minute ride will hit 65 miles per hour and speakers conveniently located behind each rider’s head will play the rock supergroup’s “Whole Lotta Love” throughout the ride.

I wouldn’t go on it because I’m not a fan of roller coasters, but for those of you that do like them, I’m sure it’ll be pretty cool. Who wouldn’t want to go on a roller coaster that plays “Whole Lotta Love”? That would rock!

The Singing Bee is a hit!

by on Jul.18, 2007, under articles

On July 10th, The Singing Debut made its debut. The show had a major audience, pulling in 13.3 million viewers. I was one among many that was singing out loud with the show, while the contestants either flopped or emerged victorious.

I’m surprised that this idea hasn’t been thought of yet. It’s a great concept and I plan on watching it more and more. I haven’t been that sucked into a reality show since the Apprentice came and went.

The competition, Don’t Forget The Lyrics, only pulled in 8.3 million viewers:

Meanwhile, Fox’s “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!,” the Wayne Brady-hosted game show in which contestants are also challenged to finish the lyrics of popular songs, pulled in 8.3 million viewers last Wednesday. The next night it rang up about 100,000 more viewers.

Paris Hilton is going to record another album!

by on Jul.18, 2007, under articles

For the love of God, like having Stars Are Blind wreak havoc on the world wasn’t bad enough, the heiress is at it again.

Socialite Paris Hilton is returning to the studio to record her second album – just a month after she was dropped by Warner Bros. Hilton spent three years recording her self-titled debut album Paris, which hit stores last summer under Warner Bros and the reality TV star’s own label Heiress Records.

With album sales like 77,000, doesn’t she know when to stop? It must be nice to have enough money to just do whatever you want without having to bank on it not being a flop…

Def Leppard rocks! Forget this bozo!

by on Jul.09, 2007, under articles

I came across this little tidbit from the Columbus, Ohio show, via DefLeppardSOL. This guy is ranting and raving about my favorite eighties rock band, Def Leppard.

He must be jealous. Joe Elliott will always look better than this nimrod and he definitely has poor taste in music!!

Check this out:

Lead singer Joe Elliott is affable enough in a bloke’s sort of way, but his voice is the very definition of mediocre and the years have not been kind to it. He sang off key for much of the band’s hour and a half set and strained to reach high notes on hit singles that most assuredly were reached in the past thanks to the magic of the recording studio.

He’s functional at best.

And certainly there are better guitarists in rock ‘n’ roll than Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell. Not that there’s anything at all wrong with Collen and Campbell. They’re both fine players. They are simply unexceptional.

WTF?!?!???

Jealous because he’s not a rock icon like any of these guys. I think this guy missed his calling as a waiter at some cheesy restaurant. Check!

Talentless ex-con sought for album cover

by on Jul.06, 2007, under articles

Anyone, anyone?!??

Oh yes, that’s right, The Smashing Pumpkins got someone for that job:

Via DerekHail, I’ve found that Paris Hilton is gracing the cover of their new album. Why, you ask? Maybe it was because she needed the job. LOL, seriously….maybe they like all that she stands for: drunk driving, being a rich brat, and having no real discernible talent.

What do you think?

Ellsbeth rocks! Check ‘em out!

by on Jul.06, 2007, under articles

I was meandering through Myspace like I always do, and came across this awesome female fronted band, Ellsbeth. You should head on over and show their page some love. I was listening intently to the songs they have up, and I have to tell ya, it’s some good stuff!

On their blog, they also have something posted where you can be notified to get an early release of their new album before it hits any type of marketplace, digital or otherwise. Also they are promising a little extra somethin’ somethin’ for the fans in this early release.

“Victim of mine” happens to be my favorite song by Ellsbeth. What’s yours?

Joe Elliott: Def Leppard isn’t a hair band

by on Jul.06, 2007, under articles

They at least used to be considered a hair band….but I can see Joe’s point of view, when considering they did sell more than ten million copies of Pyromania and Hysteria.

Phil Collen elaborates on the hair band idea, via Blabbermouth:

“The TV thing, it’s such a huge thing. Unfortunately we did get lumped in with POISON. It was the time frame,” Collen said.

You don’t see the band as magazine cover boys too often, and Elliott elaborated on why they aren’t placed there or among lists of the best musicians of all time.

“Rolling Stone and some of the others are really going to be stumped as to whom to put on the cover in a few years because Dylan’s going to be dead, McCartney is going to be dead, the STONES are going to be dead. Is anybody going to step up to the plate in their eyes that they can now turn into the icon?”

I still think they rock, hair band label or not! Just my two cents.
