Blake Lewis secures record deal

What’s next for Blake Lewis, you ask?

The American Idol runner up has inked a record deal with Arista. Apparently, they must think he has some marketable talent:

“Blake has a strong music sensibility and knows who he is and what his music should represent,” said Clive Davis, chairman and CEO of BMG Label Group, Arista’s parent. “His collaborators are all knocked out by him.”

I didn’t care for his version of “This is my now”, but maybe he did crappy on that so that he wouldn’t have to have that crap song on his new album.

  1. Let me just say I am surprised he scored a deal.

  2. Julie, I am surprised, too. Let’s just say that I thought he’d get nixed a little earlier than he did. The beatboxing crap is what kept him around. Oh yeah, and the swarm of underage chicks, aka, his fan clubs.
