Myspace Music Review: Atreyu

Atreyu are scheduled to be at the Cleveland House of Blues on September 16th, with material from their new album, “Lead Sails Paper Anchor”.

“Doomsday” is a rockingly fast track with heavy guitar riffs and that vocal sound that we have come to know and love. A little slower is “Honor”, which starts out kind of like a rap, with the singer shouting a bit, before the chorus hits. This song is my favorite.
I wasn’t really feeling “Falling Down” until the chorus came on. It’s kind of slow and has edgy melodic riffs. This song reminds me of some late 70’s British rock. “Becoming the Bull” is another song that I wasn’t too fond of. It’s okay, but it’s not my cup of tea. I’d much rather listen to “Lip Gloss & Black”.
