With the official retail release of their In Rainbows coming on January 1st, the Oxford, UK band have also been keeping busy with their “Thumbs Down Webcast” as of late.

Thom Yorke said of the episodes, “This is Thumbs Down cause it’s … [holds thumbs down]… We’re gonna play some music as we can still stand up. This is our way of celebrating the fact that we’ve finished a record.

We’ve been doing some stupid stuff the past few weeks knocking some things together. Don’t expect any high quality cause there isn’t any.” The band can be seen performing the first single from the album, “Bodysnatchers,” and another stand out track, “Jigsaw Falling Into Place,” below.

Blake Fielder-Civil is writing a book for Amy Winehouse

by on Nov.29, 2007, under articles

Blake Fielder-Civil is writing a book for Amy Winehouse to help her cope with his absence. He is worried about her and has hopes that the motivational diary will help her get through her time alone.

I guess Wino needs to know that her man cares. She’s already canceled her tour. Hopefully she’ll get to rehab and get back into making decent music.

In other news, Blake Fielder-Civil knows how to write.

Willie Nelson on the cover of High Times smoking reefer

by on Nov.29, 2007, under articles

Now don’t be confused, I don’t listen to country music at all. I just found this quite comical that Willie Nelson is on the cover of High Times, with a joint in hand. I wonder if he’s concerned about the legal repercussions of doing this, but it’s probably just a ticket.

Go Willie! I bet he inhales!!

Linkin Park & Coheed & Cambria are touring

by on Nov.29, 2007, under articles

From the press release:

Columbia Records is proud to announce that Coheed and Cambria will be supporting Linkin Park on all dates of their upcoming national tour. The tour goes from February 12 to March 10 and will be hitting 19 cities, including Madison Square Garden in New York. The dates come on the heels of Coheed’s successful sold-out 25-date national headlining tour that wrapped at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on November 29, 2007.

Coheed and Cambria (Sanchez – vocals, guitar; Travis Stever – guitar; Mic Todd – bass) spent the first half of 2007 working on “No World for Tomorrow in Los Angeles with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour) and mixer Randy Staub (Metallica, Nickelback). Coheed recruited Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters to play drums on the record, while ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Chris Pennie is now a permanent fixture in the band and has taken their live shows to new heights.

No World For Tomorrow has sold over 100,000 copies in four weeks, and the Linkin Park dates mark the first time the band has played in arenas.

DATE CITY VENUE

2/12 Omaha, NE Qwest Center Omaha
2/13 St. Paul, MN Xcel Energy Ctr
2/15 Columbus, OH Nationwide Arena
2/16 Detroit, MI Joe Louis Arena

I don’t know how impressed I am with Coheed & Cambria. As far as their support of Linkin Park? Weird. I’d have thought they’d been better off supporting The Killers. Both guys have weird voices.

Britney Spears has been replicated

by on Nov.29, 2007, under articles

It’s kinda like one of those Where’s Waldo things. Can you pick out the real Britney in this picture? I wanna say it’s the one that looks more methfaced, but that could be any of ‘em. They’ve replicated the Britney wig look.

She needs to show her real hair already, it’s been a while since she shaved it all off. I’m sure it looks better than the weaves she’s been sporting.

Lindsay Lohan to collaborate with 50 Cent on new album

by on Nov.29, 2007, under articles

I know that Lindsay Lohan has already put an album out….according to sources, she’s apparently teaming up with 50 Cent for his help on her second effort. I’ve only heard the one song that she’s done, Rumors, and it was alright. Maybe working with Fiddy can liven up her sound a little.

According to her father, Michael Lohan, they’re in talks, but nothing is concrete yet.

Lily Allen diagnosed with a heart murmur, enjoys healthy lifestyle

by on Nov.27, 2007, under articles

When Lily Allen went to the doctor recently, they shocked the pop star with the news that she has a heart murmur. She has since cut down on biscuits and other “crap” that’s bad for her.

She wants us all to know that she’s not conforming to the “skinny minnie” myth and she’s not trying to be thin just to be with the in crowd. She is doing it for health reasons.
