Marilyn Manson spends band money on weird stuff

by on Nov.22, 2007, under articles

Marilyn Manson is facing legal trouble from his former keyboardist, Madonna Wayne Gacy, after a new complaint was filed, accusing the shock rocker of spending the band’s earnings on items made from human remains.

The keyboardist made the revelation in new legal papers added to his existing lawsuit against the singer, in which he accuses the star of failing to pay him during his time in the band. Gacy filed the original lawsuit in L.A. Superior Court in August, in which he claims Manson squandered his band’s earnings on “sick and disturbing” Nazi memorabilia and a skeleton of a young Chinese girl, among other unusual items. He also claims Manson offered him “partnership proceeds” from the group in 1993.

In the new complaint filed on Wednesday he says Manson bought another skeleton of a man in a wheelchair, and African masks made of human skin – both illegal in the U.S. He also stated in the lawsuit that Manson arranged to have his actress girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood receive the “highest salary ever paid to any actress in any music video in history” for her appearance in the promo for Heart Shaped Glasses.

So Manson is a weirdo, we already knew that. But, Nazi memorabilia? That’s just crazy.

Suge Knight to be named in Biggie lawsuit

by on Nov.20, 2007, under articles

Suge Knight will be named in the wrongful death lawsuit involving Notorious B.I.G., Christopher Wallace.

The Wallace family believe Knight ordered the murder of the larger-than-life rapper in the infamous East Coast/West Coast rap war, which also claimed the life of Death Row artist Tupac Shakur in September 1996. Knight has denied having any involvement in either murder.

So you know where Biggie is and you order some low-life cop to go and take care of him?

Notorious B.I.G. was a great ruler in the hip hop kingdom and he’s missed. RIP Biggie. Hope your murderer(s) are brought to justice swiftly.

The top 10 songs I sing in my car, alone

by on Nov.19, 2007, under articles

Here are my top ten songs that I jam out to, in my car, all by myself. I tried not to go with the obvious songs by artists, like Megadeth, Metallica, Def Leppard, and Slayer, all of which are artists that I greatly enjoy.

I had to dig deep for these, so I hope you enjoy them. I also hope I can look at myself in the mirror in the morning. Shhh…these are between you and I.

Ladies and gentlemen, my guilty pleasures.

1. Survivor – “The search is over”

You’ve heard of them. You’ve probably heard “High on you” or “Eye of the tiger”. Here’s one of my blasts from the past.

2. The Flys – “Got you where I want you”

This is an obscure one. Heyyyyyy, what’s the point of this? Heyyyyy, heyyyy, what’s your favorite song, maybe we could hum along……. Yeah, you get it. Good stuff.

3. Fenix TX – “Threesome”

I love this song, it’s in my cd player now. Go figure.

4. W.A.S.P. – “Wild Child”

Who doesn’t need a little WASP in their lives? This is hard rock at it’s best. It was a tie between this song and “Animal”.

5. Accept – “Screaming for a love bite”

Accept rocks. This song is awesome. When you get into the Metal Heart groove, there’s no going back.

6. Eazy-E – “Boyz in da hood”

Gangster rap at its finest. Eazy-E was the king of all things rap. Cuz the boyz in da hood are always hard, come talkin’ your trash and I’ll pull your card….

7. Culture Club – “Karma Chameleon”

A little red, gold, and green to brighten up your day (and mine)….I used to think Boy George was a woman….I still love this song…

8. The All American Rejects – “Dirty little secret”

Just listen to the vibe surrounding this song, there’s no denying how cool it is. Well, you can deny it, but we all know this was popular for a reason and it wasn’t because I was the only one listening to it.

9. Jane’s Addiction – “Jane says”

The classic song that you can always sing along with. Show me who doesn’t know the words to Jane Says and I’ll show you someone who’s been hiding under a rock for the last decade.

10. Sons of angels – “Lonely rose”

Fairly obscure song. Light rock/ballad stuff. This is also on the mix cd in my car. Love it.

Well, there you have it. Let’s keep these between us, okay?

New track from the Eminem helmed D-12 member Bizarre

by on Nov.18, 2007, under articles

Bang on the Table Productions hip-hop recording producer Alpha-bet has unveiled details of his production work on the sophomore album from Bizarre of D-12, “BLUE CHEESE & CONEY ISLAND.” The full length LP includes the Alpha-bet produced breakthrough street buzz single, “ANIMAL” – which was released Tuesday, October 23rd on Koch Records.

The track “ANIMAL” has a sound bed of haunting violins, echoing flutes and earth shattering drums all composed by Alpha-bet as the backdrop for Bizarre to verbally express his drive into the ‘rumble in the jungle’, with Detroit hip-hop veteran King Gordy and Raazaq riding shotgun. When asked about the up and coming Detroit producer Alpha-bet, Bizarre stated, “The beat for ANIMAL was the very first beat that I heard from Alpha-bet, and that was the one, I didn’t need to hear anything else!” The album marks the second release for Bizarre, a member of the group D12, who was brought to the world by multi-platinum Grammy winning hip-hop artist Eminem.

Along with the aforementioned track, Alpha-bet ‘s production work in the local Detroit hip-hop scene as been so potent that he has been nominated Detroit producer of the year by detroithiphop.com 2 years in a row. The producer has been mentioned in such press as XXL (Nov 2007 issue), The Source (Dec. 2007 issue), Allhiphop.com, Sohh.com, Detroit Free Press, and Real Detroit Weekly (click and scroll down to “The Zone” article). Alpha-bet has placed scoring duties for MTV, custom ringtones for Cingular/AT&T, the Discovery Channel documentary “The Real 8 Mile” by Pulitzer prize winner Charlie McDuff, music production on a video directed by Anthony Garth (Jim Jones, Eminem, 3-6 Mafia, Slum Village, Obie Trice) and Speed Channel’s “Unique Whips” custom car show, scoring the 3rd season debut featuring 50 Cent & LeBron James. “I represent 40 to 50 freelance producers at my music licensing company, and I’d defiantly put Alpha-bet at the top of the list. He’s very talented as a producer”, says New York based Indigi Music Publisher Nicole Sanzio.
Currently Alpha-bet is in the studio working with S.L. Jones from Killer Mike’s Grind Time Label, Young Jeezy’s USDA label, and several up coming projects for Def Jam & Koch Records. Alpha-bet inquiries can be sent to his myspace and website.

Led Zeppelin may do a full tour

by on Nov.14, 2007, under articles

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has suggested a full-scale reunion tour from the band is a possibility.

The band are playing a one-off reunion tour at London’s O2 Arena on December 10th, but Page has hinted that there might be more shows in the pipeline, the NME reports.

In an interview with Blabbermouth.net, he suggested the massive demand for the London gig had made the idea of a full tour increasingly likely.

“It’s a bit silly not to because there is such massive demand…It’s a bit selfish to do just one show,” Page said.

“If that’s it, we probably shouldn’t have taken the genie out of the bottle,” he added.

LED ZEPPELIN’s record label has yesterday, November 13th, announced plans to release collectible vinyl editions of the band’s classic Mothership collection and The Song Remains the Same in April 2008.

Do the tour, come to Cleveland, we’ll be waiting!

Lily Allen sings Waterloo Sunset at Eurostar

by on Nov.14, 2007, under articles

This afternoon at Waterloo International, we were first treated to a musical spectacle by Blazing Fire, before our special guest of the day Lily Allen arrived to serenade us with a farewell to Waterloo International.

The crowd in the station was swelling, and she and the band treated us to three songs. Two will be familiar to anyone who’s turned on a radio this year – “LDN” and then “Smile”. Her final song was perhaps a bit unfamiliar to some of her regular fanbase but will be familiar to many – a beautiful cover of The Kinks’ seminal “Waterloo Sunset” that was as close to note-for-note as possible.

I actually really like this song. My favorite version is the one covered by Def Leppard.

R.I.P. Donda West

by on Nov.13, 2007, under articles

On Saturday, November 10, 2007, at 8:30 PM PST Kanye West’s mother, Dr. Donda West, was pronounced dead due to complications from cosmetic surgery involving a tummy tuck and breast reduction procedure, which were completed at Centinela Hospital in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles.

TMZ reported that Dr. West was advised not to go through with the surgery by Beverly Hills physician Dr. Andre Aboolian due to a health condition that could lead to a heart attack. Dr. West was later refered to an internist who was recommended by Dr. Aboolian.

Dr. West never met with the recommended doctor and had the eventual fatal procedures performed by someone other than Dr. Aboolian. After her death, many mainstream stations started to play his Late Registration tribute song to his mother, “Hey Mama,” as a demonstration of mutual respect for West and his mother.

Karma Crazyyyyyyyyyy

by on Nov.13, 2007, under articles

We’ve just learned that Boy George is in trouble for imprisoning an escort by chaining him to his wall:

The singer and DJ – real name George O’Dowd – is alleged to have chained a male escort to a radiator at Boy George’s home in Ravey Street, Hackney, east London on April 28th.

The Karma Chameleon star – who last year completed a community service order in New York after missing a court date in relation to a drug charge – has been bailed and will appear before Thames magistrates court on November 22nd.

“George O’Dowd, 47, a musician of Ravey Street, EC2, is charged with the false imprisonment of a 28-year-old man in Ravey Street on 28th April 2007,” a police spokesman said.

Auden Carlsen had alleged in April that Boy George had chained him to a wall after the pair had arranged to meet on the website Gaydar, though Mr Carlsen denies he was working as an escort and says he was paid by the singer to pose for photographs.

Talk about karma coming back to bite you in the butt!! I’m still waiting on the mugshot goodness.

Amy Winehouse doesn’t have time for drugs

by on Nov.12, 2007, under articles

Amy Winehouse insists that she doesn’t have time for drugs now, yet falls asleep mid-sentence in interviews:

Singer Amy Winehouse has denied reports that she is a drug user, insisting she is “too busy” to be an addict. The troubled star, who was hospitalised for a drug overdose in August and arrested for marijuana possession last month, recently gave a bizarre interview to a U.S. music publication, during which she is said to have slurred her words and fallen asleep mid-sentence three times. And although she denies being a drug addict, she admits she has a problem with alcohol. She tells Blender magazine, “I don’t have the time (for drugs)… I’m a really big drinker. “I used to be there before the pub opened, banging on the door.”

Pete Wentz is amused by unsexy list

by on Nov.12, 2007, under articles

Pete Wentz is amused to be included on the unsexy list due to his mullet.

Wentz, who is dating sexy singer Ashlee Simpson, featured in website AOL’s Completely Unofficial Top 11 Unsexiest Men countdown, but claims not to take jibes about his looks seriously. He tells MTV, “I’m just happy to be nominated. It’s funny, I got on People’s Most Beautiful list because of eyeliner, and I got on AOL’s Most Unsexy because of eyeliner too. It was the reference in both of those. “And I don’t really view myself as a particularly attractive person. So it doesn’t really bum me out that much. I have a mullet. I don’t care.”

Nikki Sixx accepts Tommy Lee’s resignation

by on Nov.08, 2007, under articles

Who died and made him king of the hill?

Rocker Nikki Sixx has confirmed Tommy Lee is no longer a member of reunited rockers Motley Crue following a showdown between the two bandmates. Lee announced his resignation from the band earlier this year after falling out with Sixx and fellow bandmates Vince Neil and Mick Mars, after the trio joined forces to take the drummer’s manager Carl Stubner to court, accusing him of persuading the rocker to choose two TV reality shows over a lucrative Motley Crue tour. The trio claimed Stubner’s actions and Lee’s appearances on Tommy Lee Goes To College and Rock Star: Supernova cost them a small fortune and severly damaged the band’s reputation.

You know I have to side with Nikki Sixx because Tommy is a dog and gets punked out by people like Kid Rock.
