Black-Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am breaks his foot
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.31, 2007, under articles

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am recently broke his foot and told the TMZ paparazzis outside Katsuya that his New Years resolution was to not break the other one. On another note, he did say that he’d be working with Wacko Jacko in 2008, so we have that to look forward to (or not).
Get better soon, Will, being on crutches sucks. Maybe he broke his foot kicking Fergie? We could only hope.
Constantine Maroulis doing celebrity bingo
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.31, 2007, under articles

TMZ caught American Idol reject, Constantine Maroulis doing celebrity bingo and Q&A in Oneida, Wisconsin. One lucky bingo player was able to make off with $1,000.00.
Which leads me to wonder how much they paid Constantine for his appearance. I guess ya can’t blame a guy for trying to make some money off of his name, right?
He’s cute alright, but his voice is crap. Got any duct tape?
Beyonce is a hot mess!
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.31, 2007, under articles

Normally, girlfriend looks very well put together. At Jay-Z’s Cl;ub 40/40 opening, however, this was not the case.
Somewhere in the world, Shakira is missing a wig. This look definitely makes the baby Jesus cry.
Enough cliches, that’s all for now.

The girl who lied in her essay got her tickets yanked
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.31, 2007, under articles

Remember the young girl who lied about her father dying in Iraq in an essay to win Hannah Montana tickets? Well, the producers of that contest did in-fact pull her tickets.
The mother, Priscilla Ceballos, is saying that it was just an essay and she never claimed that it was a true story. The sponsor of the contest, Club Libby Lu assumed that the essay was true and sent it to the media. Upon finding out the actual truth about the story, Libby Lu pulled the tickets from Ceballos and her daughter and awarded them to someone else.
No Hannah Montana tickets for you….not yours.

Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black named Top Seller of 2007
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.31, 2007, under articles

Amy Winehouse’ss album Back to Black is being hailed as the biggest selling album of 2007. Though her personal life has become nothing but a shambles, her professional footing as an artist that brings in the dough, is solid. Amy Winehouse’s $1.85 million in sales is very impressive, with Leona Lewis coming in second with $1.59 million.
Here are the top albums and singles for 2007 according to the Official U.K. Charts Company:
The top ten biggest-selling albums were:
1. Amy Winehouse: Back to Black
2. Leona Lewis: Spirit
3. Mika: Life in Cartoon Motion
4. Take That: Beautiful World
5. Westlife: Back Home
6. Eagles: Long Road Out of Eden
7. Kaiser Chiefs: Yours Truly Angry Mob
8. Arctic Monkeys: Favourite Worst Nightmare
9. Timbaland: Shock Value
10. Rihanna: Good Girl Gone Bad
The top ten biggest-selling singles were:
1. Leona Lewis: Bleeding Love
2. Rihanna feat Jay Z: Umbrella
3. Mika: Grace Kelly
4. Leon Jackson: When You Believe
5. Take That: Rule the World
6. Sugababes: About You Now
7. Timbaland feat Keri Hilson: The Way I Are
8. Proclaimers/Brian Potter/Andy Pipkin: (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles
9. Mark Ronson feat Amy Winehouse: Valerie
10. Kaiser Chiefs: Ruby
What’s odd is the fact that Amy Winehouse made the best selling album of 2007, but no songs from the album made it in the top ten for the singles list.
Jay-Z opens 40/40 Club without any hitches
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.31, 2007, under articles

It was rumored and speculated that Jay-Z’s new 40/40 Club in Vegas would not open as expected due to violations, etc. We are glad to report that he was able to have his opening last night, December 30th, without any hitches whatsoever.
By his side were Beyonce and her sister, Solange Knowles.
Also on schedule for the rapper, are tonight’s New Years Eve festivities. According to their website, you could’ve secured a booth for 2 for $2,300.00. That doesn’t mention whether or not drinks are included. If you can afford to spend $2,300.00 for a booth, then I’d guess that you wouldn’t have to worry about the extra cost of drinks, though.

Children of James Brown contest his will
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.30, 2007, under articles

Five children of the late James Brown are saying that his will should be invalidated due to the undue influence that his advisors used to get him to create charitable trusts that they would benefit from.
They are saying that they are sure that he wanted to donate something to charity, but the will has been “clouded in mystery”.
The bulk of the money from Brown’s estate was set up to benefit the education of his grandchildren as well as needy kids.
No one really knows how much money the estate has, so that’s another fact that’s clouded in mystery.
The lawyers are saying that no one told James Brown what to do. The grandchild that is set to benefit from the tuition money from the will is saying that his children are just trying to break the charities to get the money.
If James Brown only had a few dollars, this would be a non-issue. He was rich, so everyone has to try and get their share of money that he probably wouldn’t have wanted them to have.

Girl won Hannah Montana tickets by lying about dead father
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.29, 2007, under articles

A six year old girl won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert by tugging on the heartstrings of the judges. Her essay started with the tearjerking line, “My daddy died this year in Iraq.”
The false story won the girl the tickets, but the organizers of the contest may just take them away after the girl’s mother acknowledged that it was all a lie.
The saga began Friday with company officials surprising the girl at a Club Libby Lu at a mall in suburban Garland, about 20 miles northeast of Dallas. The girl won a makeover that included a blonde Hannah Montana wig, as well as the grand prize: airfare for four to Albany, N.Y., and four tickets to the sold-out Hannah Montana concert on Jan. 9.
She had identified the soldier as Sgt. Jonathon Menjivar, but someone did their homework and found that he doesn’t exist.
They are determining whether or not to take the tickets back. I’m on the fence on this one. On one side, we have this girl and her mother that won out with a creative lie. Don’t we read on and on the stories of eBay sellers who make up stuff to pimp out their wares? On the other hand, they used a lie about a soldier dying in the Iraq war. Tsk tsk.
Dita Von Teese & Marilyn Manson’s divorce finalized
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.28, 2007, under articles

Dita Von Teese must have asked for this for Christmas. She is finally legally able to marry someone a lot nicer, unlike Marilyn Manson, who collects baby remains and Nazi crap.
Congrats to the happier couple!! Now that their divorce is final, they are free to marry whoever they want!
Sean Combs gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.28, 2007, under articles

On January 11, 2008, Sean Puffy/Diddy/Whatever Combs will be honored with his star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Here’s what he had to say about the whole thing:
“I’m from Harlem, New York, so to get a star in Hollywood is just mind-blowing. “You can get a lot of things but when you see those stars on the ground… that’s something I can’t even say I dreamed of and to be getting recognised for it is definitely something I’m gonna have my whole family out there for.”
Congratulations to Sean Combs!

And speaking of presents, Guitar Hero 2 & 3 rock my socks!!
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.26, 2007, under articles
I got both Guitar Hero 2 & 3 for my kids for Christmas, along with two of the Xplorer controllers. Yesterday, they were rockin’ like Slash at a Velvet Revolver concert.
And all was well. I took them over to their father’s house and lo’ and behold, my boyfriend and I were left with the games, two guitars, and no kids….
So we played and we played and we played some more. We rocked out! We battled Tom Morello and unlocked Slash. We played Cult of Personality on medium and Raining Blood on easy. We found out that I give up when the songs get too hard…hehe
It was all good fun, though. Hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas and the presents!
Take that Gloria Estefan!!
I agree with Gloria Estefan…well almost.
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.26, 2007, under articles
Gloria Estefan has said that the Christmas season has become too commercial and that families should teach their children the real meaning behind it all. She has also said that she wants to ban presents.
And I agree. Almost.
Sure, we should definitely teach our children the meaning behind Christmas. I have no issue with that whatsoever. And I also agree that everyone gets caught up in the whole commercialization of it all.
But —hold the press!!! Ban presents? What’s this nonsense?!??!?!
You can’t do that to little kids!! You might as well become a Jehovah’s Witness or something.
