Girl won Hannah Montana tickets by lying about dead father

Hannah Montana sucks

A six year old girl won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert by tugging on the heartstrings of the judges. Her essay started with the tearjerking line, “My daddy died this year in Iraq.”

The false story won the girl the tickets, but the organizers of the contest may just take them away after the girl’s mother acknowledged that it was all a lie.

The saga began Friday with company officials surprising the girl at a Club Libby Lu at a mall in suburban Garland, about 20 miles northeast of Dallas. The girl won a makeover that included a blonde Hannah Montana wig, as well as the grand prize: airfare for four to Albany, N.Y., and four tickets to the sold-out Hannah Montana concert on Jan. 9.

She had identified the soldier as Sgt. Jonathon Menjivar, but someone did their homework and found that he doesn’t exist.

They are determining whether or not to take the tickets back. I’m on the fence on this one. On one side, we have this girl and her mother that won out with a creative lie. Don’t we read on and on the stories of eBay sellers who make up stuff to pimp out their wares? On the other hand, they used a lie about a soldier dying in the Iraq war. Tsk tsk.

  1. That little girl made up an Essay. Isn’t an essay all about that. how about impeaching BUSH, whose lies costs billions of dollars and thousands of lives.

You phony assholes. Let the little kid enjoy her moment.

  2. If anyone is to blame its the mother. No 6 year old would think of such a lie.

And to Chris…I couldn’t have said it any better (About Bush)!

  3. I totally agree. This essay was definitely the work of the kid’s mother. The girl is way too young to be that conniving.

    Chris, I agree wholeheartedly.

  5. I think that the mom should have at least told the truth and said that her daughter really loves Hannah Montana and that it would mean the world to her to go to that concert.and now it’s too late she got her tickets away. me, yeah I am a huge fan of Miley Cyrus and I love her music but if I were to write an essay I would at least say,” I am a big fan and I haven’t been to one of her cancerts and it would mean the world to me.” it’s simple as that.

  6. How did this turn into a subject about Bush? And that little girl doesnt deserve her moment. Some other little girl that has actually went through hardships in her life should enjoy it. My fiance is in iraq right now, and I cannot stand that she used that reference. But she got the tickets taken away, and she had to move because of her mistakes. I guess its taken care of lol. Oh and she had to take her “myspace” down. How weird that a mom would have a myspace anyways.
