There isn’t going to be a New Kids on the Block reunion
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.28, 2008, under articles

Sorry everyone! Your dreams of seeing Jordan Knight and the blue-eyed kid have been shattered. Not long after the rumor hit the internet that the former boy band were trying to have another go at stardom, did they speak out to say that it just plain wasn’t happenin’!
And straight from the horse’s mouth, too. At least we won’t get those songs in our head again, right?
YOU GOT THE RIGHT STUFF, BABY……..
Eddie Van Halen honored for Best Music at AVN Awards
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.28, 2008, under articles

Eddie Van Halen won the Best Music accolade at the 25th annual Adult Video News Awards, for his work on the adult film feature, Sacred Sin.
The awards ceremony took place on January 12th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Vegas.
For Sacred Sin, Eddie did two songs, “Rise” and “Catherine”.
“One of the things that Eddie really, really liked,” director Michael Ninn said, “was the theme from ‘Catherine’. He did a remix, it still carries the melody, but it’s got a ‘Kashmir’ / LED ZEPPELIN kind of feel to it now. A very, very powerful piece of music.”
The second song, “Rise”, was a tune he had been working on already. “I heard it and just fell in love with it,” Ninn said. Van Halen also contributed some “transitional piano pieces that are sprinkled throughout the movie.” The rest of the music is the work of frequent Ninn collaborator Loren Alexander.

Marilyn Manson: “I would get the school shootings Grammy”
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.28, 2008, under articles

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson usually gets the blame when teens go wild and shoot up schools, etc. He has insisted that if there were a Grammy to be had for school shootings, it would likely be his. He said that he gets too much bad press after it emerged that those who committed mass murders were fans of his music.
He says, “For Marilyn Manson, it seems to have become about the death toll, because we get blamed for every act of violence. “They don’t have a Grammy award for school shootings, but I guess I would get one if they did, whether I asked for one or not.”
I know and you know that Marilyn Manson is not the reason for these kids to run out and shoot a ton of people. Music censors are always looking for a scapegoat. Remember what happened to Ozzy?
Is Britney Spears’ boyfriend selling videos of her?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.28, 2008, under articles

Britney Spears’ paparazzi boytoy, Adnan Ghalib, may have been trying to pimp out some new videos of the poptard talking to herself. In an interview on Entertainment Tonight, the snapper played several voicemails left on his voicemail by Britney. It’s being said that he is even trying to sell video clips of the singer of various outfits or even a bath towel, for two million dollars.
In the videos, she is supposedly babbling to herself in third person saying something about guardian angels.
Will this guy ever quit trying to make that buck off of Britney? Hopefully she has realized what he’s doing and has gotten rid of him already.
I guess he must feel that he has the inside scoop already?
This girl’s my idol, for sure
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.27, 2008, under articles
She sang her heart out ala Grace Slick and all she got was “you’d be a great 60′s cover band singer”, so she cusses about Simon and flips off the camera.
My idol, indeed.
New Music: M. Pokora – “Dangerous”
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.27, 2008, under articles
This guy is kinda cute. This track was produced by Timbaland. It’s definitely the type of music that you’d hear at a club.
Thanks PerezHilton.
Myspace Music Review: Anatomie Bousculaire
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.27, 2008, under articles

I know that it doesn’t help that this chick is singing in French or anything, but it Anatomie Bousculaire still rocks. I dig most chick rock, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
But they could really be singing about killing baby kittens for all I know…hehe
To quote their myspace page:
Art for us is a sincere engagement and certain values are inalienables!
Freedom, the respect, the fight counters all the injustices and discriminations,
racism, the war, violence, insulation, the homophobie, the mysoginie…
The list is long.
This is some cool grunge music….oh yeah, and their Myspace page is in French, too…good luck with that one.
Have you heard Mindless Self Indulgence yet?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.27, 2008, under articles
If not, then what are you waiting for?
These guys (and girls) totally rock. Mindless Self Indulgence is a mix of electronica and punk and it’s hardcore.
I’m really digging this band, and you can too, here at their Myspace page.
The good news is that they’re coming to the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland on April 29th. I’d highly recommend listening to the Straight to Video Birthday Massacre first. It’s got such an awesome vibe to it. Too bad they’re not allowing anyone to download any of the songs…..that’s the only thing that bites.
Check them out, you’ll be glad you did!
Beyonce is set to play Etta James in the Cadillac Records movie
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Beyonce is set to play blues singer Etta James in a new movie titled, Cadillac Records. The cast includes her, Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, and Cedric the Entertainer in the 1950′s set movie.
It’s being said that filming for the movie is set to take place later this year in New Jersey and Mississippi.
She was great in Dreamgirls, so I’m sure this will be no different.
There is going to be a Flava Of Love 3
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Yes, weirdo old-school rapper/whatever, Flava Flav is STILL lookin’ for love. I seriously hope that this is an end to the trend for reality shows, where they keep the story going and going and going.
I can’t say that I would think that there are too many women left that would actually date this clown. I mean Public Enemy was so 80′s. Didn’t they do Bring the Noise with Anthrax..? That’s the only thing they’re famous for….just kidding. But if there is anything else they’re famous for, then I don’t know what it could be.
Maybe Flav should just hook up with New York already and be done with it.
Maybe this is giving the idea to Bret Michaels that it’s okay to still look for love beyond episode 2. Hope not!
Britney Spears makes George Clooney want to move
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Handsome actor George Clooney weighed in with his two cents on the poptard recently.
Apparently, there was such a fuss going on about the Britney Spears meltdown that George wants to move!!
Check out what he had to say about the whole kerfuffle:
“I’d gone upstairs, and I came out and I’m in a robe. All of the sudden I see all this s–t going on.
“I have a guest house where my assistant sometimes is, and I think, someone has broken out of prison and like escaped, because it’s a chase scene. It’s something out of Die Hard.
“I get my baseball bat, which is what you always get in every film – I actually think Clive Owen said, ‘Get a baseball bat’ – and I called up my assistant, who I thought was in the guest house, and I said, ‘Are you OK?’
“And she’s like, ‘Yes.’
“And I said, ‘Look, if there’s someone in the place, say the word stonehenge.’
“And she’s like, ‘What the f–k are you talking about? I’m in my apartment.’
“I go, ‘You’re not in the guesthouse?’
“‘No.’
“So I’m, like, ‘Well, then, what the f–k is going on?’ And I go out and I’m running around with a baseball bat in my robe.
“And it turns out it’s Britney Spears’ house is like, 300 yards from mine. So now I have to move.â€
I wouldn’t want to live near her, either. Crap, I’d never get a Frapuccino from Starbucks ever again. Either she’d buy ‘em all or the paparazzi would constantly be blocking the entrance to the place.
Christina Milian hosts Cielo Garden & Supperclub’s one year anniversary party
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Christina Milian hosts Cielo Garden and Supperclub’s one year anniversary party in Coconut Grove on January 24th.
I think she looks cute here. Her makeup is flawless, but the hair could definitely use some work. Just sayin’.
Here’s a video of my favorite Christina Milian song, “AM to PM”, I still rock out to this in my car. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.
For some reason, the video reminds me of “Crazy” by Britney Spears….I don’t know why.
Madonna can buy & sell you and your whole family
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

It’s being reported that Madonna recently purchased the house next door to her London home and has already turned the place into a gym.
I guess she must have money coming out of her ears. Recently, rumors were flying that she had another dip in the fountain of youth (read: more plastic surgery), but she hasn’t said anything about that yet. Not even a denial.
Back to the story…Madonna hasn’t received “planning permission” so she hasn’t been able to connect the two houses with a walkway, so she has to walk the 20 yards to go to her personal fitness center.
Must be nice!

The DVD also features two tracks that come in U Myx format, which allows you to remix the tracks.

Go to CoF’s official web site and check it out
And check out their new song, “Devil to the Metal”, here. It’s freakin’ awesome.

Miley Cyrus may have wanted to go swimming?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Okay, this picture has been leaked and apparently it’s Miley Cyrus in a bikini…because you know, that’s NEWS. Everybody is making a monster fuss about this chick and I still don’t get it.
Maybe she’s the next Britney Spears or some crap. Sooner or later, the paparazzi will be following this broad to Starbucks everyday. Cuz that’s what Disney does to these girls.
Look at Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears. And ya know what else? Speaking of Jamie Lynn, she’s turning over her baby to her mother Lynne…LOL Cuz that’s SMART, right?
Ali Campbell is leaving UB40
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles
Ali Campbell has announced that he is quitting UB40 after about thirty years, stating that he left due to management problems. His former bandmates said that he left to pursue solo projects.
The group, even after being together for around 30 years, are widely known for such songs as “Red, Red, Wine”, (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love with You”, and that song that Paris Hilton ripped off, Kingston Town.
The band was named after Unemployment Benefit Form 40, the government document used by welfare claimants.
Campbell said UB40, which includes his brother Robin, would continue without him. UB40′s upcoming “24/7,” which was recorded with Campbell, will be released as planned in May.
Here’s a vid of “Red, Red, Wine” to bring back some memories:
Stone Temple Pilots plan summer tour?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

According to sources, Scott Weiland told fans recently that he planned to reunite the Stone Temple Pilots to do a summer tour.
The official news was released by Velvet Revolver axeman, Slash. We haven’t heard of the deets on the reunion yet, but we’re hoping that they come to our neck of the woods! That would be rockin’!
And don’t think that because he’s doing stuff with STP, that Scott Weiland plans to leave Velvet Revolver any time soon. That’s not happening.
I saw VR in Cleveland a year or so ago and they rocked the house HARD, so it’d be a shame to walk away from that type of electricity on stage.
Tour deets to come upon availability.
Have you heard “Black Abyss” by Black Tide yet?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Maybe it’s just me, but I just noticed that the new rockers Black Tide have updated their Myspace page with a song called, “Black Abyss”. I’m digging it, totally.
Now, it’s not as good as their first single, Shockwave, but it’s one of those songs that will stand the test of time, if you ask me.
Note to peeps in charge of managing the band: I’m still waiting on my Black Tide CD, yo. Love this stuff. Hook a girl up.
Check out The Black Hollies
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

If you like old-school music, like Cream and the like, then you’re going to dig The Black Hollies. I listened to this stuff for the first time today and I have to say, I’m hooked.
It’s a totally groovy older sounding music. I guess old is the new black, eh? Their myspace page has some more cool music by them, too, be sure to have a listen….you’ll be glad you did. Also, their logo screams “60′s dope smokin’ era”, don’t you tthink?
Check out the press release:
Jersey City gutter-psychsters The Black Hollies will release Casting Shadows, the follow-up to 2006’s critically-adored Crimson Reflections, March 11th via New York imprint Ernest Jenning. Drawing on the sonic formula that convinced The L to call the quartet “the best band currently making the rounds in NYC,†Shadows will no doubt appeal to listeners with a fondness for legends like Cream, Syd-era Pink Floyd, The Yardbirds, or modern psych-rock paladins such as the Black Lips and the Warlocks.

Britney Spears isn’t a California resident?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

Britney Spears’ lawyers Trope & Trope have been granted another month to work on the case of her driving in California without a valid driver’s license.
This case relates to the incident where Britney tapped a park car in a parking lot and got out to check her own vehicle for damage. She didn’t leave a note or anything. The poptard’s attorneys are set to prove that because she owns properties in other states, that she is not necessarily a California resident.
Heck, I thought the Malibu Starbucks was her residence for a little bit there.
And we break for a video of The Rolling Stones
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles
My kids were playing Guitar Hero earlier today and it got this song in my head, so I thought I’d get it stuck in yours. Mick Jagger and everyone look so young and goofy. And this was considered sexy back in the day?
Love ‘em, though.
You’re welcome.
