Britney Spears offered receptionist job by PETA

by roberta on Mar.31, 2008, under articles

Really nice. Someone must’ve watched How I Met Your Mother and got the idea that Britney Spears actually knows how to use a telephone.

Darned animal rights activists.

Dr. Pepper tries to pry Chinese Democracy out of Axl Rose’s hands

by roberta on Mar.31, 2008, under articles

I know, I know…Axl Rose is hideous, why do you think I didn’t show you this picture before you had your breakfast? You’re welcome.

Apparently, Dr. Pepper thinks it can twist Axl Rose’s arm so that he’ll release Chinese Democracy sometime between now and death this year.

They are offering a free Dr. Pepper to everyone in America if the plan comes to fruition. Everyone except Slash and Buckethead, that is.

I don’t think he’ll release it this year…..and by the time he does, we aren’t going to care.

Rikki Rockett arrested for rape charge

by roberta on Mar.28, 2008, under articles

Okay, this guy has reached the ultimate in douchebaggery. Sources say that Poison drummer Rikki Rockett was arrested at an airport in L.A. on a rape charge from Mississippi.

Check it out:

Officials there booked him on a felony fugitive sexual assault warrant out of Neshoba County, Miss. Information about the warrant and specific charges was not immediately available. Neither were details of Rockett’s current whereabouts.

But no one said if it was a guy or a girl!!! Inquiring minds wanna know!! (Note: Dude was a former hairdresser, need I say more?)

Aerosmith rocker Joe Perry is recovering from knee surgery

by roberta on Mar.25, 2008, under articles

Joe Perry, of Aerosmith, put off having knee replacement surgery for two whole years. That’s a lot of time to go with a bum knee.

He apparently wanted to fulfill all of Aerosmith’s touring committments prior to getting the surgery.

Sources say that the surgery went as planned and Perry is recovering.

The best concert ever!

by roberta on Mar.23, 2008, under articles

In case you didn’t know it, I’m an insanely huge Def Leppard fan. If you know me personally, then this isn’t exactly a surprise.

So when the music channel came together to put our posts together about our favorite concerts, I figured this one was going to be really easy.

The Def Leppard Euphoria concert was the best concert I’ve ever been to. That may be because it was also my first, too, but seriously, it rocked. Opening for them was some unknown band who really sucked and could barely be heard.

I went there with my ex-husband, who wasn’t a fan by any stretch of the imagination. But they played all of their hits and encored with Love Bites. We had lawn seats, which sucked, but the concert was electric just the same.

I stood up like a tard with a lighter and held it high and proud…..just the same as I would today. They still rock.

The only concert that would even come close to being near this ultimate concert status, was the Kiss/Aerosmith concert. Both were sweet concerts, but Euphoria takes the prize.

Can’t wait to see them again!

Mark Ronson is impressive

by roberta on Mar.21, 2008, under articles

Okay, I have to admit that today was the first time that I’ve ever heard Valerie by Mark Ronson. I know, I know….it was so September of last year…..right?

But this song hits back to the 50’s and 60’s sounds. It’s magical. I know I’m a dork for old music and sometimes it takes a while for a song to enter my rotation, but I’m kicking myself now, this song is awesome.

What do you think?

Coldplay unveil the name of their new album: Viva La Vida

by roberta on Mar.20, 2008, under articles

Viva La Vida, which means “long live life” is going to be the name of Coldplay’s fourth album, Chris Martin says.

I think it reminds me too much of La Vida Loca, which is what I almost typed instead. Doh!

Chris says he’s used to people picking on him for his naming choices, though, because he named his kids Apple and Moses.

If you’re interested, the album is due to be released June 17th.

Are we boycotting Converse for the Kurt Cobain line of shoes?

by roberta on Mar.20, 2008, under articles

Probably.

Courtney Love is looking to cash in again….and she’s still using Kurt Cobain as a brand. It’s a shame, because this really goes against the corporate nonsense that he really stood against. First it was lunchboxes, flasks, and Doc Martens in the sky, now, it’s Converse.

What’s next?

Converse has made the shoes with Cobain’s signature on them and they’re using diary entries from the late singer as part of the “tribute”.

Fans see this for what it really is, Courtney needs the cash.

Michael Stipe comes out to help kids

by roberta on Mar.17, 2008, under articles

Michael Stipe has come out of the closet in an effort to help some kids out there who may have trouble with confronting their sexuality.

How cool is that?

He says that some of his lyrics are directly from his life and that the song, “7 Chinese Brothers” was about him breaking up a couple and then dating both of them, the man and the woman. He attributed that to being young and stupid.

I don’t care if you’re gay, just keep making Shiny Happy songs.

Is Kelly Clarkson the next Britney Spears?

by roberta on Mar.17, 2008, under articles

And by the title of this post, I don’t mean that she is going to rise to fame like our wonderful poptard Britney Spears.

Apparently, Kelly Clarkson likes to go commando. Will she be the next star to get caught with her pants down? Heh heh.

Britney Spears has already shown the world her lady bits, so if Kelly is a fan of going without underwear, then maybe she’s next? Or, maybe she’s not a big enough star that the paps go around and try to take her picture, getting out of a car? Step it up, Kelly.

I know this isn’t exactly music news, but it’s my blog, and I’ll write what I want to.

Come for the music news, stay for the snark.
