Simon Cowell gives David Cook the thumbs up

For all of us who thought that Simon Cowell equally disliked the remaining American Idol contestants, he’s actually come out to say that he likes one in particular….David Cook.
Blender asked Simon his thoughts on the upcoming winner of American Idol and here’s what he had to say:
Who do you think deserves to win this season? we asked Simon. “Probably David Cook,” he drawled. “I think he’s done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He’s taken more risks, he’s done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I’m gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win.”
Of course David Cook deserves to win. Now that they’ve gotten rid of dreadboy, it’s only a matter of time that David can put out an album that no one will care about.
Yeah, I’m not really impressed with David Cook. I mean he can sing well, it’s just not anything unique or anything. By this time American Idol is nothing unique. It’s all the same and how can you honestly sit there and judge this stuff knowing that the contestants are simply run of the mill. I don’t see huge contracts or record sales in David Cooks future. I don’t wantt o take anything away from his talent but honeslty compared to everything else out there he is nothing special…just what the voters have to settle on…sorta like George Bush’s last two runs.
