Nikki Sixx seems to feel the same way I do about Miley Cyrus….lovely!

He says, “There’s things that I see where I go, ‘Rock Star energy drink? Give a f*cking break. There’s no rock stars involved in this. There’s a lot of sh*t out there where people are calling it ‘rock.’ I went into Barnes & Noble the other day, and there’s a huge display that says ‘rock & roll,’ and it had a big thing of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. I went, ‘What the f*ck is this?’ People are believing that shit that is not rock & roll, is not the rock lifestyle, is rock.”

I can’t help but to laugh. Don’t shove your version of what’s “rock” in my face.

  1. It’s rock n roll for young girls and boys….sorta like Motley Crue.

But seriously, would he rather have his children hear Miley Cyrus singing about whatever it is she sings about, or would he rather have them listen to lyrics of his saying stuff like “I thought that pussy was golden”? Seriously. It’s like ripping a mad magazine out of your kids hand and throwing them a Hustler and saying,”You want to read a REAL magazine, Then here!”.

I don’t like the Jonas Brothers anymore than he does, but at the same time my son is not ready to listen to some of the stuff I listen to yet. It’s simple STFU and let kids be kids stuff.

  2. ok, scott completey missed the point. the point is miley cyrus and the jonas brothers are not rock. the jonas brothers suck, but motley crue’s lyrics are a little dirty. BUT, motley crue isnt any better role model than miley cyrus. JB, whatever, but the other two, NO.. but the point is, MILEY CYRUS AND JB IS NOT ROCK!!!

  3. No, I think I got the point. Obviously your missing the point though. The point is that it FOR KIDS! It may not be rock to you and I, but it is to kids. We know better and if your grown enough you don’t have to argue this point. You can not compare the Jonas Brothers to Aerosmith. It’s apples to oranges. Let kids have their “Rock” and let them call it whatever. Later on they will grow out of it and will then know what rock is. Until then, let them call it pop/Kiddy rock whatever, who cares. If you want to argue over that feel free to lower yourself to that plain. It’s a grown, almost 50 year old rock star comparing his style of rock to something kids listen to no matter what you want to call it.

  4. Scott i think u are just plain retarded. what nikki sixx is saying has frigin nothing whatsoever to do about kids genra’s. her music should be under pop or whatever u wanna call it. In terms Rock is rock. and what she sings. aint rock brotha. end story. theirs no secret meaning behind that. shakes head

  5. McGill, STFU, Scott made a point….My nine-year-old thinks the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus are rock and I’m not going to tell him differently. Should I take his Hannah Montana crap and replace it with Led Zeppelin, and tell him, ‘Now that’s rock.’? Kids like what they like. It’s all good. No need to get snippy, buttmunch.

  7. The messege that i was getting across was. The world has warped itself in the sence of thats simmilar to saying corn and carrots is beef?. things beeing classified under uniformed names that they shouldnt be classified under.

simmilar to saying rapping is music. i understand that u dont wanna ruin it for the kids but in the sence of the artical all thats getting put across is that aint rock and the music culture has slid into the balence that so much music is classified under what it definatly shouldnt be

apologies for the ‘retard’ comment. quitting smokeing. trying to pick fights lol. my bad. salutes

  8. There used to be a day when everything was categorized well. Rock was in rock, pop was in pop and metal was in metal. These days I think they kind of mix things because it’s hard to tell the difference between some of the modern rock acts and pop music. Often you see rock/pop in the cds. If you’re lucky they separate Metal from everything else like at F.Y.E..

I understand what you’re saying, but as I said. He’s bitchin’ about kids stuff.

  9. haha sad to say but even metal has alot of crap that is in it now. -_-!sigh. just g2 grow with the times i think.

But at the same time. put urself in the position where most of the portion of ur life was in a band. rocken it persay. and at this stage intime have devoted ur life to it. and then u see miley cyrus next to your cd. in the same catagory lol. idk bout u but id be pretty pissy. its like. jaw drops rampage

  10. Yes even metal has bands in there that don’t belong…like Avenged Sevenfold. But he was in Barnes N Noble…what did he expect? I hate the fact that sometimes I’ll be looking for a band that is clearly metal and can’t find it. So I go and find it in the Rock/pop section.

On the other hand they tour with the likes of Papa Roach, Hinder, and Trapt so his credibility has gone out the window in my opinion.
