Alicia Keys wanted Amy Winehouse to do the duet for Quantum of Solace
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.23, 2008, under articles

Alicia Keys says that Amy Winehouse should have been included on the new Bond theme, saying that she would have loved to record with Amy.
Amy was definitely in the running to do the new song, but the song was given to Alicia Keys and Jack White to screw up. Don’t get me wrong, Alicia has a great voice, but this just wasn’t her.
Amy was upset over not getting picked to sing the song and even threatened to release her Bond theme on the same day as the Keys/White track.
Alicia says that she would’ve liked to have shared the honor, saying, “I would have loved for her to do it – it would have been awesome. All three of us should do it.”
What she really means is, our version sucked, can you come throw us a bone?
Britney Spears’ Womanizer release pushed back until September 29th
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.23, 2008, under articles

I was actually waiting and scanning Youtube early yesterday morning for a released longer version of Britney Spears’ new song Womanizer. Unfortunately, it was to no avail.
The song has been pushed back for release until next Monday, September 29th. So, don’t expect to hear the new track at any clubs this weekend.
A source says that “the mix was not finalized” and left it at that. They did say, however, that it’s not Britney’s vocals as the culprit for the hold up. It’s how all facets of the track sound together.
The Rock of Love Bus is around the corner
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.22, 2008, under articles

The newest spinoff from Rock of Love is Bret Michaels’ latest attempt to find true love — on TV. The new show, Rock of Love Bus, will probably give us a lot more of the same stuff that we’ve already witnessed. Chicks will be vying for Bret’s attention, while having to jump through hurdles to get it.
The only differences are that there will be different girls, obviously, and no mansion. So all these broads are going to be stuck together on a tour bus. How quaint. This is supposed to show the girls Bret’s true ‘rock and roll lifestyle’.
Also getting a new spinoff will be Daisy De La Hoya. She’ll be picking out her Mr. Right from a bunch of dudes. I wasn’t really a fan of hers on the show, so I’ll be more likely to watch Bret’s crap again. What about you?
Janet Jackson leaves Island Records
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.22, 2008, under articles

Janet Jackson has terminated her relationship with her label, Island Records, according to her publicist.
Her rep said, “At her request, the record label has agreed to dissolve their working relationship. Now more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album, Control, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label system.”
I can’t say that I blame her, her label ceased the promotion of her newest album, Discipline, stopping the release of any new singles from the album.
George Michael arrested for drug possession in a bathroom
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.21, 2008, under articles

George Michael was arrested after police caught him in a public bathroom with crack and marijuana.
But the singer is not going to be charged in the incident. After his arrest on Friday, he was detained and then later released with a caution.
A Scottland Yard spokesperson says, “He was released and no further action will be taken.”
I can’t understand why they let him go, he committed a crime. If it were you or me, they’d throw the book at us for smoking crack in a bathroom. But not before the tape was released to Cops.
Georgie boy just needs to stay away from public bathrooms already.
Duran Duran’s Rio is the best pop video of all time!
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.21, 2008, under articles
Can you believe that Duran Duran took the best pop video of all time honor, in which people had to vote in an online poll?
I love Duran Duran, but the video isn’t all that great. It’s a bit overrated for being the winner of a poll like this. The song was the best pop video of the 80′s maybe. There has since been better pop music videos to come out of the world. Don’t you think?
See the rest of the list here. Who would you put on there?
New music: Audio – Sean Combs – Swagger Like Puff
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.21, 2008, under articles
This is Sean Combs’ new video for Swagger Like Puff. I’m not a huge Diddy fan, so you won’t really find any positive comments about this song now.
Given that he’s so arrogant on the gas prices and thinks that the oil companies should give him oil to fuel his jet just rubs me the wrong way.
Travis Barker & DJ AM involved in jet crash
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.20, 2008, under articles

Travis Barker and DJ AM were involved in a jet crash that claimed the lives of four others on board. The Learjet crashed upon takeoff from a South Carolina airport.
The two of them had performed at a free Friday night college event with Perry Farrell and Gavin DeGraw. They were both taken to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia and were listed in critical, but stable condition this morning.
Our hearts go out to all of those involved and their families.
Britney’s new track, Womanizer
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.19, 2008, under articles
Here is a brief clip of Britney Spears’ newest song from Circus, Womanizer.
There hasn’t been any word as to whether or not this is a fake, so until I hear otherwise, I’m going to assume it’s real. And since the song was supposed to debut on the 22nd anyways, it’s not far-fetched.
I was more impressed with Candy From Strangers. How about you?
New Music: Video: David Archuleta – Crush
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.19, 2008, under articles
In his video for his first single for Crush, David Archuleta is seen playing a piano and strumming a guitar among a group of friends. He doesn’t sound bad for a 16-year-old kid. On American Idol, I will say that my money was always on David Cook, though.

Janet Jackson performs Rhythm Nation on her Rock Witchu tour
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.19, 2008, under articles
Janet Jackson performed her long-time hit Rhythm Nation at the Staples Center in L.A. on September 17th. It was also said that she pulled an audience member onstage during her song, Discipline, to perform a bondage scene. In the scene, she apparently grabs the audience member’s crotch. See the bondage scene goodness here.
Interesting. I’d go see Janet if she’d do Nasty, that was my song back in the day.
What’s your favorite Janet song?

The compilation will also include tracks by GLC featuring Kanye West, Chingy featuring Ziggy Nina, Raiyn featuring Talib Kweli, Sam Chris featuring Big Boi of OutKast, Tone BlacQ featuring Snoop Dog, and Yung Joc.
I’d probably listen to the album for the Rick Ross, Chingy, Snoop, and Yung Joc. How about you?

Lily Allen tests out her new Flip
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.18, 2008, under articles
Lily Allen is a terrible videoblogger!
She just posted this video on her Myspace blog, as a test of her “new toy”.
She blathers on about stuff and she talks with her mouth full. Lily, didn’t your parents teach you any manners?
Katy Perry almost scrapped ‘I Kissed A Girl’
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.18, 2008, under articles

Pop singer Katy Perry almost scrapped the release of her hit song, I Kissed A Girl, until her boyfriend made her change her mind.
She was reportedly relunctant to release the song because of its homosexual content going against her parents’ religious beliefs.
Her boyfriend, Travis McCoy, says, “As soon as Katy played I Kissed A Girl I said, ‘Baby, this is a smash’. I totally knew from the word go, but she wasn’t sure. She was like, ‘Do you really think so?’ I proved it to her.”
Indeed he did. It’s become a played out smash that she was even said to have been sick of singing.
Audio: Jack White & Alicia Keys’ Bond theme: Another Way to Die
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.18, 2008, under articles
Check out the new Jack White & Alicia Keys track, Another Way To Die, for the new bond film, Quantum of Solace. Hurry, before it gets yanked by Sony/BMG.
I like it, I think Alicia has an amazing voice.
If it gets pulled, you can also hear a sample here.
Video: Madonna falls on her butt onstage in Lisbon
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.18, 2008, under articles
Madonna was apparently humping the guitar when she was down on her knees, but when she got up, she fell right on her butt. The falling goodness happens around the :49 second mark.
Don’t worry, it’s nothing a little Ben Gay can’t cure!

Is this Britney’s new song Candy From Strangers? Update: It’s a fake!
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.17, 2008, under articles
It’s being rumored now that this is the new Britney Spears song from her upcoming album, Circus. The rappers on the song sound very much in need of autotune or something, because they sound very unprofessional and their parts are done rather poorly. Britney’s part, on the other hand, sounds really good.
I imagine if she had someone more experience rapping on the song, it would be a lot better.
What do you think?
Via Celebitchy
Update: It’s a fake and the two “rappers” were just looking for some publicity.
Via ONTD:
A bunch of up-and-coming rappers with a home studio and a friend who sounds quite a bit like Britney Spears recycled an old beat and sent it to gullible radio stations eager for pageviews. Could it be a demo? Sure, but it’s not likely. The original source of this leak was a YouTube video uploaded on an account that was created in the last 24 hours. It’s a publicity stunt of some kind and several excited folks, us included, fell for it. I can guarantee one thing, if a Britney song does leak, you’re going to find it here. Will we trip over a few fakes on the way? Maybe
Would you pay $10,000 for an autographed Britney Spears painting?
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.17, 2008, under articles

Now being listed on eBay, is an autographed Britney Spears painting by Daniel Maltzman. The current bidding on the painting is at one bid at $10,000. The proceeds of the auction will benefit the Promises Foundation.
The foundation aims to provide behavioral health services to low-income women and children.
Would you pay that kind of money for a piece of artwork?
Mark Ronson is single!
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.16, 2008, under articles

Mark Ronson has split up with ex-girlfriend Daisy Lowe! That’s good news for us ladies. It was said that their relationship was in trouble due to the age difference between them. With him being 33 and her being 19, I can imagine that they didn’t have much to talk about. On the same token, I still wonder what Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood discuss amongst themselves. He’s uber smart and she’s a Dita wannabe.
You know, Mark and I are the same age. You know what that means, right? Nothing, sadly, it just means that we’re the same age. You’d have to be a waif-like young model to tap that.
Kat DeLuna murders the national anthem& gets booed
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.16, 2008, under articles
20-year-old singer Kat DeLuna murdered the national anthem and got booed by fans at Monday night’s football game in Dallas.
The crowd obviously did not like her version of the song.
Kat, welcome to the World of Suck, you earned it!
Rihanna says her haircut was empowering
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.16, 2008, under articles

Rihanna had her long hair hacked off and made into her famous bob as a protest against her record label head honchos.
She says that in the beginning of her career, she was styled by music execs, but she decided to take charge of her own life and cut off her hair.
She says, “In the past I had no say in how I was presented. Those decisions were made for me, right down to the color of my lipstick. I was in Paris and I fancied a change of hairstyle. I had my long locks cut off and came away with this cute bob. Someone from my record company saw me and said, ‘It looks nice but it’s just not you. We’ll have to put extensions in.’ I was completely crushed. That’s when I realized things had to change. I make my own decisions now.”
I don’t blame her, her bob is cute.
MTV’s TRL cancelled!
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.15, 2008, under articles

After ten years, MTV is closing the door on the chapter that is TRL. Crazy!
I can’t say that I really watched TRL, matter of fact, I haven’t watched MTV in a longggggggg longgg time. I know that once they used to actually play music videos. Remember when Adam Curry was a VJ? I don’t think I’ve watched since he went off the air.
MTV head honcho Dave Sirulnick, says, “This feels like the right time and let’s celebrate it and let’s reward it. Let’s let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute. Been working hard for 10 years!”
The show will wrap in a two hour special on a Saturday in November.
Are you a fan of TRL?
