Amy Winehouse is trying to clear up rumors that she is going to lose her voice with her hard partying ways. She insists that she’s just fine and has been busy working on her new album. She was rumored to have entered rehab again over the weekend, but she was actually being treated at a clinic in London for a possible chest infection.
Her spokesman says, “Amy isn’t on a deadline with her album. The last album’s still selling. She’s in and out of the studio working. The record company hasn’t seen the final result yet. Amy’s fine.”
She recently posted a video on her official website saying that she plans to release new material soon. Hopefully she won’t make us wait another three years for a new album like she did with Back To Black.
Christina Aguilera’s video for Keeps Gettin’ Better
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.28, 2008, under articles
I really liked Keeps Gettin’ Better when I first heard it on the VMAs in September. That, combined with a super slow version of Genie In A Bottle, made me really want to buy this song. Now that the video has been released, I like this song a lot less. It’s a shame, I used to be a bigger fan of her stuff. The VMAs version should’ve been the official video for the song. This one is just lame.

Amy Winehouse hospitalized for a possible chest infection

It was already rumored that Amy Winehouse was back in rehab with her recent hospital stay, but sources say that’s not the case. She was admitted into the hospital this time for a possible chest infection, but is expected to be released sometime later on today.
She was reportedly previously diagnosed with an early form of emphysema, and doctors urged her to quit taking drugs in an effort to get well. Doctors are said to be concerned that the emphysema has returned.
Some could even say that she’s using the trip to the doctor to avoid questioning by police regarding an incident where she was said to have punched a fan who asked for an autograph. Police are allowing her to reschedule her appointment and have said that she has not been arrested for assault. (yet)

Kanye West is reportedly furious after a track from his new album, 808s & Heartbreak, was leaked onto the internet.
His new album is set to be released next month, and Kanye is insisting that he’s not to blame for the leak. The new track, Robocop, was released earlier than he planned, and he’s not happy about it.
He says, “I did not leak Robocop!!! That’s not even the finished version. I’m pretty upset about it, but that’s the way life is sometimes!”
Do you think he leaked it?
Jennifer Hudson’s mother & brother were murdered in Chicago

TMZ is reporting that Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donnerson, and brother Jason were shot and killed in Chicago earlier today. The bodies were found dead at the scene at 2:44 p.m. A cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies.
What a tragedy!
An APB was issued today for Jason’s white 1994 Chevy Suburban with license plate No. X584859. An amber alert has also been issued for who is believed to be Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family in this tough time.
Pete Wentz says prescription drugs saved his life
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.24, 2008, under articles

[Image Credit: Fall Out Boy via Flickr]
Pete Wentz is giving credit to prescription drugs for saving his life, but says that depressed kids shouldn’t mess with the stuff. Way to be a role model, Pete!
He suffers from bipolar disorder, from which he attempted suicide with a drug overdose in 2005. He opted for prescription medication to help him with the disorder, but doesn’t want any younger kids considering that as an option.
He says, “I think that medication has helped me at times in my life. I’ve needed to be on medication, it’s saved my life. But it’s definitely an over-medicated generation. Rather than having any kinds of conversations with anyone to solve our problems, we go and see what pill we can take to make it all go away.”
Don’t you just love how he contradicts himself? He takes the meds, but he doesn’t want you to. Weird.
Axl Rose is really releasing Chinese Democracy
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.23, 2008, under articles

I’m still in shock and awe that Axl Rose is releasing Chinese Democracy to Best Buy on November 23rd. I’ve listened to the debut title track, and I’m having mixed feelings about it already. I had to break out Appetite for Destruction and Lies to remember how much I really liked GNR. Paradise City and Mama Kin, that’s the GNR I remember.
After the load of crap they tried to shove in our ears, Use Your Illusions 1 and 2, I think Axl owes us something really rockin’. We deserve it after that Get in the Ring garbage. The only good that came from either of those albums was Don’t Cry, Civil War, and You Could Be Mine. But that’s just my humble opinion.
And remember when Axl was hot? WTF happened to his face?!?!?? That’s why I used an older picture of Axl, because he’s looking pretty busted right about now.
My last questions would be can they top November Rain in awesomeness or can he rock out like Welcome To The Jungle? Don’t you want to listen to Chinese Democracy and say, ‘Wow! They’re back!’? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Brad Paisley gets “arrested”
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.21, 2008, under articles
Country music singer Brad Paisley had a little bit of a reputation for pranking people on his tour. He was greeted upon arrival in Nashville, by two police officers, who cuffed the singer and told him that he was being arrested for outstanding warrants in Texas and Tennessee. The arresting officers were waiting on the tarmac and told Brad that there were allegations that he had been involved with some serious crimes.
He’s currently on tour with Jewel and Chuck Wicks, where Brad was notorious for pranking them. Chuck pranked Brad by stepping onto the stage, which was covered with syrup and feathers. During Jewel’s set, a large man dressed as a giant condom swung over her head.
Brad was charged with “excessive noodling.” I guess Jewel and her crew got the last laugh!
Lil’ Wayne is going to be a father again

Lil’ Wayne has revealed that he’s going to be a father for the second time. His second child, a boy, is expected any day now, as he announced the news at the 2008 BET Hip Hop Awards, Saturday night.
He was onstage collecting his award for Lyricist of the Year, when he announced, “I got a son about to be born any day now, so shout out to him. Pray for me.”
Lil’ Wayne already has a daughter Reginae, with his ex-wife Antonia Carter. It was rumored in August that Reginae was killed in a car accident, but those rumors have since been put to rest.
Pink sought the help of a specialist for her alcohol problems
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.20, 2008, under articles

Pink checked into a health center over the summer because she felt that her drinking was getting out of control. She went to see a therapist to determine a course of action because she started to fear that she was becoming an alcoholic.
She says, “A few months ago, I went to see a specialist because I thought I was an alcoholic. I have a problem with my vices. I’ve kicked the drugs, but every now and then I have to go out and get completely wasted on alcohol. For me it’s about losing control. I’m such a control freak it’s very hard for me to lose my inhibitions without something chemical inside me. How do you really have fun if there isn’t a little drink in you? I don’t actually know. I checked into Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona, in the summer and I went to see a therapist, telling him I was an alcoholic. He asked me when I’d had my last drink and I couldn’t remember – it had been a few weeks previously. I then read the AA manual cover to cover and we talked. I realized I wasn’t an alcoholic, just someone who likes to get drunk every now and again. I’m trying to work out if that’s a bad thing.”
After checking out the Canyon Ranch on their website, I can say that it’s a spa-like resort vacation spot. They don’t sell booze or cigarettes, and they’re very expensive. Must be nice!
Katy Perry falls on stage after leaping into a cake

Katy Perry was singing her hit song I Kissed A Girl at MTV’s Latin America Awards in Guadalajara, Mexico, when she decided to land on top of a cake as opposed to jump out of one.
She went to get up and almost made it, but slipped even as she tried to hold onto one of her bandmates. She played it off, though. From the video, it looks like she just about crawled off the stage and was carried up and out by stagehands.
At least she’s a good sport, she seemed to play it off nicely.
Here’s the video:
Sean Combs fined for blasting his music too loud
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.16, 2008, under articles

Sean Combs was pulled over by a cop on Tuesday and ignored the officer’s request to turn down the volume of his car stereo. He was reportedly driving around in his silver Jeep around Miami Beach when he was fined by the po-po.
According to TMZ, the officer asked Diddy to turn down the volume, but he failed to do so or even acknowledge the request. He was then ticketed for the offense.
Sucka. But he can afford it!

Janet Jackson back to work tonight!
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.15, 2008, under articles

[Image Credit: Urban Mixer via Flickr]
The culprit behind Janet Jackson’s concert cancellations has been revealed to be vestibular migraines which cause vertigo. The migraines were so terrible that she had to cancel and postpone six shows on her tour. She started suffering from the headaches at the end of September, which caused her to cancel that concert at the last minute. Also cancelled were shows in Boston, Philadelphia, Greensboro, Uncasville, and Fort Lauderdale.
Her manager said in a statement, “Janet wanted very much to resume her tour so as not to disappoint her fans, but she continued to suffer from vertigo and could not perform.”
Janet is planning on returning to the stage tonight for her performance in Washington, D.C.
And just when we all thought it was poor ticket sales!
Britney Spears’ drivers license case to go to court today
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.15, 2008, under articles

First of all, I really love this picture, it’s freakin’ hilarious.
Britney Spears’ driving without a license case is set to go forward today. She doesn’t have to be present in court, as it is just a misdemeanor case. She faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. I think both of these are pretty unfair, considering that she had her Louisiana drivers license, and has since gotten her California license.
I think they are trying to make an example out of her because she’s a celebrity. Her lawyer said that there was no way that she would plead guilty to the charge and that it should’ve been reduced to an infraction. I couldn’t agree more, it really wasn’t that serious. She pulled a bonehead move by hitting that other car and checking her own Mercedes for damages. It was bad enough that it was on videotape, then she paid for the damages, what more do they want?
Madonna & Guy Ritchie are divorcing!

After all of those internet rumors swirling around that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were calling it quits, we’ve just learned that the couple are actually sticking the nail in the coffin!
Her rep has confirmed the split. It was rumored that she was such a diva and that he was just plain tired of putting up with it.
TMZ first reported that the “other shoe was about to fall”.
There’s a lot of apologizing going around
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.15, 2008, under articles

First, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott apologized for mishandling the Stanley Cup, now it’s country singer Tim Mcgraw’s turn. But this time, I’m cracking up over the reason. It’s because his retarded record company has released another greatest hits album, with just one studio album in between! I’d be livid, too.
In his own defense, he says, “I had no involvement in the creation or presentation of this record. Sure, I love the songs and I don’t want to take anything away from all the creative people who were a part of making those records. But the whole concept is an embarrassment to me as an artist. In the spirit of an election year, I would simply say to my fans ‘I’m Tim McGraw, and I don’t approve their message.’”
Quick video clip: Justin Timberlake sings “Vote in the Box”
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.15, 2008, under articles
In an effort to get everyone off of their butts to vote, Justin Timberlake sings a parody of his “other song”. The video also features his girlfriend Jessica Biel, dancing. The video is dedicated to promoting the Obama campaign, but the message is plainly, get out there and vote!
Vote! Vote! Vote! Okay, /rant off.
Joe Elliott apologizes for Stanley Cup goof
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.15, 2008, under articles

Joe Elliott has apologized to hockey fans after placing the Stanley Cup upside down on a podium on the 10th. We said it then that the world isn’t going to end.
In a statement, he says, “I will, as always, take full responsibility for what happened because I have big pucks. However, someone at the NHL should have known better and informed me first instead of keeping the Stanley Cup under lock and key until the last minute. The practice runs the day before with a coffeemaker went swimmingly because it, like every other sporting cup I’ve ever seen, was wider at the top than the base. Like most of my fellow Brits, I’d never seen it before until it was handed to me sideways, by which time I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Whoops.”
Like I’ve said, it’s all good. Eff hockey, make another record!
New music: Video – Beyonce – Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.14, 2008, under articles
Following having just released her video for If I Were A Boy, Beyonce’s released the video for her other new single, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).
This song is a little more fast-paced than the previous, and it has a nice beat to it. She sings, “If you like it, then you should’ve put a ring on it.” In this video, Beyonce is seen dancing around in a black leotard looking glam.
This is definitely the single girl’s anthem. The ball is in your court, Britney. Beyonce sees your Womanizer and tells men to put a ring on it!
Britney Spears seals in deal to tour
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.14, 2008, under articles

Are you ready for Britney Spears’ much awaited comeback? Britney recently said that she was planning on going on tour next year. Now it’s being said that she just signed a deal with AEG to produce the the entire tour.
No official announcement has been made public as to tour dates or when tickets for the shows will go on sale, but she did say that it would be a world tour.
Is this a good time for a tour? I mean with all of the economic problems that the U.S. is facing, would you really consider spending that 20 or 30 dollars on seeing her?
Ringo Starr won’t sign anymore fan related items
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.14, 2008, under articles
Ringo Starr has taken to YouTube to tell all of his fans not to send anymore things to be signed after the 20th of October. He plainly says that he just has too much to do.
He says:
“This is a serious message to everybody watching my update right now. Peace and love, peace and love. I want to tell you, please, after the 20th of October, do not send fan mail to any address that you have. Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that has a date on the envelope, it’s going to be tossed. I’m warning you, with peace and love, I have too much to do. So no more fan mail. Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be signed. Nothing. Anyway, peace and love, peace and love.”
Think he’s trying to drive up the prices of autographed Ringo Starr merchandise? He’s probably just really busy as he claims in the video.
After checking eBay for autographed Ringo Starr merchandise, I found an autographed pre-print with a price of 99 cents and one seller selling autographed drum sticks with a buy it now price of $1400. I guess it’s a fan’s market really.
