Katy Perry is already wanting to drop her hit song I Kissed A Girl from her set, because she says that she’s tired of hearing the song.
She says, “The song follows me around wherever I am in the world, but it’s all people wanna hear. But I can’t get too sick of it as it’s paying for my grandchildren’s college tuition. Maybe in three years I’ll retire it or something. It’s funny in certain situations, like when you walk into the grocery store and they’re playing it and then I get in my car and it’s on the radio. I’m like: ‘Please, I get it.’”
I’m sure she’s not trying to sound like an ingrate or anything, but when you break out into the pop music business, your signature track becomes very popular and people want to hear it. I’d be upset if I went to one of her concerts and she didn’t sing that song. What would also upset me is if she covered any more Madonna tunes. That nearly killed my eardrums when she sang Like A Virgin at the VMAs.
