In case you missed it, I am giving away an absolutely free guitar with no strings attached. It was donated for this giveaway by the kind, wonderful people at Fretlight.com, and they rock.

If you haven’t entered yet, feel free to leave a comment on this post, or this one. And the catch is, not just any comment will do…it HAS to be a musical memory of some sort. You can tell me what song reminds you of a certain event or something that really stood out in your mind about music.

Just telling me how cool I am for having this contest/giveaway is not going to cut it. I already know how cool I am :)

Random winners will be chosen to win the guitar, the iPod speakers, musical toothbrushes, and more!

Giveaway started on May 19th, when my oldest son turned thirteen and ends on June 18th….which happens to be the day my youngest son Justin turns nine.

What are you waiting for?!??!????

Music is the universal language. My fondest memory of music is actually from the movie Braveheart. 80% of the movie had music. And the movie would be incomplete without it.

Setting aside the story line the music just touches my heart in a way I can’t explain. But it just makes me want to cry. Not brawl but a sense of enjoyment with a touch of sadness. I hear the bag pipes going and it’s like my soul has awaken.

Here’s to the beauty and the awe of music!

    Thank you,

    :-)

We’ll this doesn’t go very far back just a couple of years ago. I forgot everything music was about and i was just a normal teenage kid until i listened to sounds and stylingp of avenged sevenfold. They reminded me of how much i loved music. They brang back who i really was and now they still rock and i’m trying to accomplish the task of being a musician or a music therapist. Please pick me : )

I love music a ton. I have been in my high school band since I was in 6th grade. I started out with the trombone, but now I play the guitar. I am truly able to feel and play music givin to me and that I make up. I feel the senses of it.

I can truly feel the rythym, tone, and beat of music. I can feel what message the music is trying to get out. Music is able to influence people, and become part of cultures. Here’s to music, the greatest influence of all in the world.

My musical memory is being in 5th grade chorus. We had to learn a song that had all 50 states in alphabetical order in it. I can still name them in order.

When I was a child, about 3 years old, I remember singing 'La Bamba with my dad on stage. Ever since then I realized I had fallen in love with music =)
