Worst Auction Ever: The Big Bopper’s Used Coffin

posted by roberta — Jan 5th, 2009

And you might of thought this was a bad idea. The Motley Crue geeks got nothin’ on The Big Bopper’s kid. (Incidentally, if you don’t know who The Big Bopper is, please consult Wikipedia.)

Apparently, The Big Bopper’s body was exhumed and moved to a more visible location. With the family’s consent, forensic experts were also able to perform an autopsy on the 50′s singer.

Jay Richardson, the son of the legend, plans to sell the used 48-year-old casket on eBay to raise money for a musical show about his father to keep his memory alive.

What do you think? Think they’ll have any takers? Or is this just too morbid? Would you want to be the one that says, “I own The Big Bopper’s used casket”?

  2. I know, right. How can they call this a piece of history? Seriously, I know it was “the day that music died”, but shouldn’t it have remained buried?
