Aretha Franklin sang “My Country Tis Of Thee” at today’s Inauguration ceremony for President Barack Obama. The lady’s got some pipes! She did great, though.

And Barack is sitting there cheesin’, like, “They got Aretha for me”. Wonder if they had to pay her to perform.

DMX was interviewed from the Arizona prison that he’s in. He talks about God and the Devil and how he was strong enough to overcome the obstacles that the devil has put in front of him. It’s typical for a convict to find God when they get locked up.

It’s been confirmed that Jennifer Hudson will be performing at the Grammys on February 8th. She was nominated for four Grammys for her self-titled debut album.

This will be Jennifer’s second appearance in the spotlight since the murders of her mother, brother, and nephew. She’s also slated to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl on February 1st, in Tampa, Florida.

Take your time, Jennifer, the world will wait until you’re ready.

Britney Spears has reportedly been forced to re-record her song, “If You Seek Amy” due to the threat of radio stations worrying about “that mom in the minivan with her eight-year-old”. Good grief, will this ever end?

She is editing the track, which includes the lyrics, “All of the boys and all the girls are beggin’ to If You Seek Amy”, to “If You See Amy”. Why ya gotta cater to these fools just to get your music heard?!?!?

WTF, right?

Moms in minivans know how to change the station if the music doesn’t meet their listening standards. But of course, we need a nanny to not give us the choice, don’t we? What’s the world coming to?

I like the song just the way it is and don’t believe in censorship. The uncensored version is going to do well in the dance clubs, though.

Kelly Osbourne has been arrested for slapping a journalist in a nightclub in London last summer. She was subsequently released on bail and is set to return to see authorities (whatever that means) in March.

The complaint comes from a claim that Zoe Griffin (the journalist in question) wrote a nasty piece on Luke Worrall, Kelly’s boyfriend. Kelly apparently didn’t like the article and slapped Zoe.

The arrest happened on January 2nd and we’re just now hearing about it. Thank you Scotland Yard.

A source says, “Courtney thinks he’s charming and handsome and absolutely has to be Frances’ first date. She’s doing everything she can to engineer another meeting.”

Katy Perry says that she feels terrible about the effects that meeting her has on her young fans. She says that she’s worried about meeting younger fans due to an experience that she had that didn’t go so well.

She says, “I went to get a soda pop from the lobby of my hotel and I was just in my hot pink monkey-and-banana-print pajamas, which was weird enough. But there was a girl, she looked like she was about 13, she saw me and she just fainted. I felt awful. It was like a bad dream.”

Well, let’s hope that she fades out of our view already, unless she’s got some new music soon.
