by on Jan.19, 2009, under articles

Beyonce had the honor of closing out yesterday’s “We Are One” Inaugural Concert for Barack Obama. The event took place at the Lincoln Memorial and Beyonce sang “America The Beautiful” for everyone in attendance.

Have a listen. She did a great job.

She will also be performing Etta James’ song, “At Last”, which will be the first song that Barack and Michelle Obama will dance to as President and First Lady.

New Music: The Jonas Brothers – Infatuation

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Here’s the Jonas Brothers’ new song, “Infatuation“. The chorus is in Japanese and the song is a bonus track that was added to the album “A Little Bit Longer“.

It’s too poppy for me. How about you? I wonder, too, who they wrote this one about? Any guesses?

Joaquin Phoenix Falls Off The Stage

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Dude. This really happened. Joaquin Phoenix is trying to jump start his career in music, by rapping. He was “performing”, if you want to call it that, at Lavo yesterday when he fell off of the stage.

What’s he on anyways? Why’s he trying to jump into a rap career with his mountain man look? WTF? Right?

Joe Jonas: Hottest Male ‘Virgin Media Award’ Winner

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Joe Jonas is apparently the winner of Virgin Media’s 2008 Hottest Male of 2008. He screeched right by Justin Timberlake and Jason Orange. In case you didn’t know, he’s the dude from Take That.

You think Joe won because tweenybopping chicks are trying to corrupt his purity? Girls, are you trying to give Joe a reason to take off that ring?

Lady Gaga Performs ‘Just Dance’ Live On The U.K.’s T4

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Lady Gaga performed her hit single, “Just Dance” on the U.K.’s T4 Sunday.

Not too shabby! I’m digging it. She’s leading the way for artists to keep up the live performances.

What do you think? Think Gaga is here to stay or is she a flash in the pan?

Boy George Is Terrified Of Jail

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Boy George was tossed into jail for 15 months on Friday for falsely imprisoning male escort, Audun Carlsen. He was taken to the holding cell where he broke down into tears, telling fellow inmate Richard Lyttle about how terrified he is to get thrown into prison.

Richard wanted his fifteen minutes of fame, so he cashed in and told the Sunday Mirror about how George was afraid of being killed in jail.

Lyttle said, “When I walked into the cell I saw this fat, bald bloke sitting in the corner crying like a baby. He was shaking like a leaf, a total wreck. He kept sobbing over and over, ‘I can”t go to jail – I’ll be killed.’ He was crying about how he was just a fat old pop star that everyone was laughing at.”

Lyttle said that he also warned George that he would be a target for other inmates because he’s a celebrity. He added, “He was shaking as he listened and kept asking what other inmates would make of him. I warned him that because of who he was and because he was gay, people would be out to beat him up.”

Good luck, George. Hope 2010 looks up for ya.

For nostalgic purposes, I must include Culture Club’s best song, “Karma Chameleon“.

Casey Carlsen’s American Idol Audition

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Not sure how I missed Casey Carlsen’s audition on American Idol, on the 14th. (Editor’s Note: I didn’t watch the show, that could be why.) It was great, she did a fantastic job at singing Vanessa Carton’s song. Very nice.

All the judges were in agreement to send Casey on through to Hollywood. Think she did better than bikini girl? I do. She looks a little like Katherine McPhee, doesn’t she?

Think she’ll go far?

Rihanna – Official New Song: ‘How I Like It’ – Listen Here!

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

This is the final cut of Rihanna’s new song, “How I Like It”. I like this much better than the previous version of the song. I’d link to it, but the sound has been disabled due to copyright issues. This is something more of a song that I’d listen to in my car.

Much, much better.

Bonus: Here’s Rihanna getting manhandled by Chris Brown.

Katy Perry Wrongly Given Rihanna’s Award

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Katy Perry was in attendance at the NRJ Awards in France when she was incorrectly announced as the award winner for Best International Song. The award was actually intended for Rihanna for her song, Disturbia. Katy graciously accepted the award all the while Disturbia was playing.

It’s a shame. They totally botched that one, didn’t they?

The host admitted and apologized for the error at the end of the show. NRJ is a French radio station that is her label’s partner, with their awards being voted upon by the public. It looks like she will be expected at every single NRJ events and will probably win something, as well.

Think it’s a setup? Somewhere in the world Lily Allen is cackling about this.

Here’s Katy’s new video for “Thinking of You”:

Paris Hilton Doesn’t Like Lady Gaga

by on Jan.18, 2009, under articles

Lady Gaga had nothing but nice things to say about Paris Hilton, saying that she is “very pretty, and very, very clean”, but obviously the feeling isn’t mutual.

A source says, “Paris is also envious of the way Gaga has made it big in the U.K. Gaga is the name on everyone’s lips. It is really annoying for her.”

The source also revealed that Paris is just envious of Lady Gaga because of her success as a singer and performer.

Too funny. Eff ‘em. And Dance!
