Joaquin Phoenix Talks About His Hip Hop Career On ‘David Letterman’

by on Feb.12, 2009, under articles

In case you’ve been in a hole the past few months, Joaquin Phoenix said “Bye! Good” to Hollywood and acting in favor of a career in hip hop music. It was rumored that the music thing was just a joke, but it’s painfully obvious that it really isn’t.

He was on David Letterman last night where he talked a little about his upcoming career as a hip hop artist:

I guess we could hope that this is a joke, but it doesn’t look like it. My guess is that he won’t be appearing on the show to “perform” anytime soon, either.

Bummer, too, because I sure could use a laugh from that one.

Rihanna Was Working On “Emergency Room” When Chris Brown Attacked Her

by on Feb.12, 2009, under articles

Yikes. I guess life really does imitate art.

Rihanna was working on a track called “Emergency Room” with Akon, when she was attacked by Chris Brown. The song depicts a woman who is trying to get some wicked revenge on a boyfriend who had been cheating on her.

This is the perfect revenge song. Check it out:

The chorus says:

You gonna be in the Emergency Room
I’m standing by your bed
And so tempted to pull out your IV
You gonna be in the Emergency Room
I’m fightin’ with myself
I can’t hurt you even though you hurt me
You gonna be in the Emergency Room
Tryin’ to call a nurse but nobody can help you now
Let me see you try to live without me
Now where’s your heartbeat?
Flat line on the E-K-G

And just when you’d think she wouldn’t do such a thing, I remembered that she attacked her brother with a glass bottle in 2007.

Lily Allen To Go To Number One With “It’s Not Me, It’s You”?

by on Feb.12, 2009, under articles

Lily Allen has blogged on her official MySpace page that she was informed by her record company that her new album, “It’s Not Me, It’s You” has a pretty good chance of going to number one here in the U.S.

She says:

Im currently sitting behing Alison krauss and Robert plant, who, quite rightly are sitting at no 1 . ive never had a number one album in England , never mind the US ,and all of this is a bit crazy . I could well be up for no1 here(America ) , which makes me want to cry a bit . Iv’e never begged you to buy from me ever, but I am now . this will be the only time ever in my life that this could happen for me. Help me get to no 1 , go to I tunes and download the album, you’re the only hope ive got guys. Ill love you forever.

Ps thank you to everyone who has brought me this far.

I love you alwys x

I hope it does go to number one. I can’t stand Allison Krauss and what she’s done to our Robert Plant. She’s turned him from rock god to country whiner and it ticks me off that she’s probably the reason why Led Zeppelin won’t get back together. Grrr.

Back to Lily, she definitely deserves to be number one, I can’t stop listening to “Fag Hag”.

Joanna Pacitti Replaced On American Idol By Felicia Barton

by on Feb.12, 2009, under articles

Remember what I told you about American Idol contestant Joanna Pacitti? She had too much background to be considered an amateur for the show, even though the girl can sing like mad.

We’ve just found out that she’s been replaced on American Idol for their top 36 contestants. Ahh, the controversy begins.

Late last night, the network released this statement, “It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition.” The announcement was released shortly after the broadcast of the show’s “Final Judgement” episode”, which actually shows Pacitti going into the semifinals.

It’s a shame for Pacitti, even though she’s had plenty of chances to make it as a singer, she can sing. Hopefully she’ll work something out for a record deal with someone else. Toss her a bone, Clive.

She has been replaced by 26-year-old Idol hopeful, Felicia Barton.

Rihanna Fans Expected To Shred Chris Brown CDs & Posters On February 13th

by on Feb.11, 2009, under articles

This just came in from the Earsucker inbox and I thought I would share it with you, in case you’re in the area and feel like throwing some of your Chris Brown merchandise into a wood chipper.

New York and Long Island people are set to “Shred their Ex’s” in a party before Valentine’s Day in a Nationwide protest. It’s being said that thousands of Rihanna supporters in the area are expected to shred Chris Brown CDs and posters for the pre-Valentine’s Day bash.

Radio station WBLI has already invited Rihanna supporters and members of her fan club to join her side along with those who are also “unlucky in love”.

According to the station’s operations manager, Nancy Cambino, “Valentine’s Day should stand for love so we find it fitting to make Friday the 13th right before Valentine’s Day a day for revenge for those who were unlucky in love. Whether you’re a Rihanna fan or not, we can all empathize with being with someone who caused love to go wrong.”

The details:

When: Friday, February 13th at 10:30 a.m.
Where: The BLI Studios 555 Sunrise Highway West Babylon, NY

I’d go if I lived anywhere near the area. I’d buy one of his CDs just to burn it.

Kelly Clarkson’s new album “All I Ever Wanted” is set to be released on March 10th, so here’s a little something to tide you over until then.

2. I Do Not Hook Up
3. Cry
4. Don’t Let Me Stop You
5. All I Ever Wanted
6. Already Gone
7. If I Can’t Have You
8. Save You
9. Whyyouwannabringmedown
10. Long Shot
11. Impossible
12. Ready
13. I Want You
14. If No One Will Listen

John Mayer & Ellen DeGeneres Sing “Just Dance” In The Bathroom

by on Feb.11, 2009, under articles

This video is so cute and funny. John Mayer was on Ellen DeGeneres’ show Monday and they sang Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” in a bathroom.

It sounds like Ellen’s just doing it for the fun of it and John’s really trying. She sounds better, in my opinion. Dance music is just not his thing. Still cute that they did this, though.

Wrigleys Pulls Chris Brown’s Gum Ad Due To Rihanna Controversy

by on Feb.10, 2009, under articles

Head honchos at Wrigley’s gum have pulled an ad featuring Chris Brown until he goes through his “due process”.

They’ve said that, following what has happened to Chris in the past few days, his image won’t help them sell gum, so they’re temporarily pulling his ad.

Here’s the ad, in case you were curious:

Wrigley’s bosses issued a statement saying, “We are concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.”

He is set to appear in court on March 5th.
