Kara DioGuardi In ‘Theory Of A Deadman’s’ New Video

by on Mar.31, 2009, under articles

Here’s American Idol’s new fourth judge, Kara DioGuardi, in the new video for “Theory Of A Deadman“, called “Not Meant To Be”.

I guess their stunt-casting worked, because I had no idea who this band was until I saw that she was in it. And they’re not bad, either. Anything that draws my attention to decent new music is good enough for me.

They remind of a little bit Hinder mixed in with Chris Daughtry. Maybe it’s just me. Very melodic and it has a catchy hook. Not too shabby. Well played guys.

What do you think? Besides that, what do you think of Kara’s part in the video as the love interest?

Another Britney Spears ‘Help’ Recording Released – Audio

by on Mar.30, 2009, under articles

It’s hard for any of us to know if these recordings of Britney Spears are real or not, but here she is again, pleading for help to get from under her father’s control.

She says, “Hi. My name’s Britney Spears. I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, that you know, he’ll take my children away. I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process and that you guys are taking care of everything. That things will stay the same as far as my custodial time. That’s it. Bye.”

Do you think it’s her? I can imagine if this is true, it must be hard for her to get a message to anyone and she really must be feeling like a prisoner.

New Music – Audio – Fiona Apple – ‘Why Try To Change Me Now’

by on Mar.29, 2009, under articles

Fiona Apple worked on a project called “Then Was Then & Now Is Now“, which was a tribute to Tony Award winning songwriter and Broadway composer, Cy Coleman.

This song is called “Why Try To Change Me Now”, which was originally written by Cy for Frank Sinatra.

Have a listen to Fiona’s version of the song, which is really bluesy and shows off her singing flair. I love this version, already. It sounds so jazzy and old school, it’s great.

And the original, as done by Cy:

Coleman is a true legend. What a great song. For more information on the tribute EP, click here.

Madonna Is In Malawi, Adopting Mercy James

by on Mar.29, 2009, under articles

Madonna, who has already adopted David Banda from Malawi, is in the African country again to adopt another child, Mercy James (Photo here).

Mercy’s grandmother, Lucy Chekechiwa, isn’t fond of the idea of her granddaughter being adopted. She said, “Why doesn’t this singer pick other children? It is stealing. I want to go to court, I won’t let her go.”

Mercy’s mother, who was 18-years-old, passed away a few months after she was born and her father is said to be alive, but his whereabouts are unknown.

If her grandmother was able to take care of her, she wouldn’t be in an orphanage. Madonna will care for these kids much better than anyone else, even though her home is considered “broken” by their standards.

Krayzie Bone Had No Idea Who Kevin Federline Is

by on Mar.26, 2009, under articles

Even though it was said in the tabloids that Kevin Federline was set to work with Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony on his new record, Krayzie says he had no idea who this guy was.

He says, “I didn’t even know that my people was actually talking to him at first, because I had no idea about it until I started seeing it in the tabloids and on different websites…I really didn’t even know who he was at first. K-Fed, I didn’t know that name until somebody told me that’s Britney Spears’ ex-husband… After then I was like, ‘Oh nah, we not messing with him.’ But then after I spoke to my people, they told me that they had conversations with him and that he was possibly looking for some writers, and you know, like some production and stuff like that. So I was like, ‘That’s what I do.’”

Should’ve turned your back on him Krayzie, he’s poison!

LAPD Wants ‘Rihanna’s Law’ Enacted

by on Mar.24, 2009, under articles

And this makes perfect sense to me. The LAPD was against the release of the beating photo of Rihanna that was sold to TMZ, from the word go. Now, they want to stop those who are profiting off of someone else’s misery to face the music.

Sources say that the law would have TMZ and the like, facing consequences for releasing private or sealed photos and other information related to a case, for profit.

You can check it out in full here.

Britney Spears Has Paid Over $2.7 In Lawyer’s Fees

by on Mar.24, 2009, under articles

Good God, Britney Spears has a lot of cash to toy around with, but paying out $2.7 million in attorney’s fees and costs is just way too much.

Think Britney’s being bled dry by smug jerks in suits?

According to the L.A. Times, retired probate Judge Arnold Gold (who isn’t a part of the Spears’ conservatorship or any other Spears related case) says that it’s not uncommon considering her profession.

He says, “The mere dollar amount doesn’t automatically mean it is inappropriate. It’s quite appropriate, particularly in the entertainment field, to incur and have to pay very, very, very sizable attorneys’ fees.”

She’s footing the bill for her own attorneys, her dad’s attorneys, the divorce from Kevin Federline, his attorney’s fees, a Florida civil suit, her driving without a license case, and a mold issue with a place she leased.

I’d like to have the money that she spends on Starbucks every year.

5 Funny Songs About The Economic Crisis

by on Mar.23, 2009, under articles

While there really isn’t anything funny about the current economic crisis, all of us poor people can at least enjoy a giggle at these funny (but true) jingles. Music and politics sometimes coincide, and it’s a great way to symbolize how we’re all feeling when the D.C. fat cats pass laws that we do not want. (Ahem, BAILOUT?)

Ladies and Gents, I present, “Recession Music“.

Neal Fox – “F**k The Fed”

This is my favorite song out of the list. With a note on his Youtube sidebar that explains what The Fed is, Neal has hit the nail on the head. Well played, sir. Think he’s FED up?

Michael Adams – “I Want My Bailout Money”

This song is about the failed fiscal policies of the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury. Where’s our bailout?

Paul Hipp – “Free Money In The USA”

A song that will keep you “dancing through the depression”, Paul Hipp delivers the free money goods in this catchy little tune. I want some free money!

Ron Barba – “You Had A Bad Year”

While it’s a funny parody of “You Had A Bad Day”, we can all agree, the recession is in full effect. It’s effecting everybody. This video features Jim Cramer (of Mad Money) and Barack Obama, supposedly “throwing you a bone”. Sure he is. I’ll hold my breath.

Dan Henkel – “Super-Spending Stimulating Bailout Legislation”

A little folksy, but Dan communicates his point well. The Democrats passed the bailout without the GOP, or our approval. Now I’m not saying that I wanted John McCain in office by any stretch of the imagination, but Congress should have both parties agree on something, before the bill gets passed…

What would you add to the list?

Lily Allen has released the video for her second single, “Not Fair”, from her album, “It’s Not You, It’s Me”.
