New Music – Audio – Fiona Apple – ‘Why Try To Change Me Now’

posted by roberta — Mar 29th, 2009

Fiona Apple worked on a project called “Then Was Then & Now Is Now“, which was a tribute to Tony Award winning songwriter and Broadway composer, Cy Coleman.

This song is called “Why Try To Change Me Now”, which was originally written by Cy for Frank Sinatra.

Have a listen to Fiona’s version of the song, which is really bluesy and shows off her singing flair. I love this version, already. It sounds so jazzy and old school, it’s great.

And the original, as done by Cy:

Coleman is a true legend. What a great song. For more information on the tribute EP, click here.
