Eskimo Joe releases Heath Ledger tribute song, ‘Foreign Land’ (Audio)
Australian rockers Eskimo Joe have released their first single, “Foreign Land” as a tribute to late actor Heath Ledger.
The group formed in Perth, Australia in 1997, which also happens to be Ledger’s birthplace. The song’s lyrics include “I smell the blood of an Australian”, which is said to be about the media’s bloodlust over the death of Ledger.
Drummer and guitarist Joel Quartermain said, “They pretended to be sorry, but they really loved it. They loved the fact that somebody was dead.”
Way to capitalize off of his death, though. The song appears on the band’s fourth studio album, “Inshalla”, which was released on May 29, 2009.

After the jump for the lyrics:
Eskimo Joe – Foreign Land
Steady my shaky hands
Shut off the world’s demands
to get the facts down
Do you understand?
That this is a foreign land
So try to understand that
Do you understand?
Do you understand?
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
Even when you’re all alone
Even when it’s not your home
Take a little look around
nothing else hits the ground
Touch my hand
up to the air
Dying in the foreign land
So do you understand that
Do you understand?
Do you understand?
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
Even when you’re all alone
When it’s not your home
I smell the blood of an Australian
Try to understand this if you can
if you can
if you can
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
This is what it feels to love
then l can feel that
Even when you’re all alone
When it’s not your home
I smell the blood of an Australian

Yeah right, and aren’t they are ALSO capitalising on his death?
