I wonder if Lambert and Seacrest ever played swords backstage? While talking to Chris Connelly on “20/20″, Adam Lambert talked for the first time on television about how comfortable he is with his sexuality.

He says, “It’s surprising, because I don’t think twice about, for example, my sexuality. I’ve been living this way for the whole time I’ve been in L.A. – for the past eight years. It’s a funny reminder that not everybody is as comfortable with it as I am.”

Connelly: “Adam are you gay?”

Lambert: “Yes I am.”

Connelly: “What do you want to share with us about your sexuality?”

Lambert: “That I am gay and I’m very comfortable with it. I have been for a long time. And I think it’s funny that people are like, ‘Ohh, he’s been hiding it.’”

Connelly: “Were you afraid that coming out while you were still on Idol would somehow limit your ability to succeed in the competition?”

Lambert: “I’ve always been out. I just chose to avoid it. I wasn’t ready to, ya know, address everything that I’ve ever done and reveal the most intimate details of my personality because I was just getting used to being a figure of the public eye. I feel like, ‘Okay, now people will see me as an entertainer’ and now I’m willing to let them in on a little bit more of my personal life.”

Connelly: “How does that feel to be open to the world now?”

Lambert: “It feels really good because I think there was a lot of speculation and a lot of talk.”

Connelly: “Yeah!”

Lambert: “A lot of it. And it feels really good to just kind of state the fact and move forward and not keep wondering about what is new. With whom.”

He goes on about how his mother and he finally talked about his sexuality and staying up until 3 o’clock the morning, talking about it. He also speaks about his “Rolling Stone” cover shoot, the snake, and falling in love with a man or a woman.
