Jay-Z prevented Chris Brown from performing at the BET Awards?

According to one of Chris Brown’s dancers, Jay-Z prevented Chris from taking the stage at tonight’s show.
“BShaw” took to his Twitter to say this about Jay-Z:
Jay-Z is mad childish. Never keep a person from paying there respect.
Beating up someone you care about is even more childish.
What say you, do you think Chris Brown should’ve been able to perform tonight?

I only watched to see Chris Brown and New Edition perform. You can not keep Chris Brown down forever. This awards show would have been awesome if Chris was allowed to give tribute to Michael Jackson. No one could do it better. The BET award show was horrible. Nothing memorable… It was quite embarrassing actually.

I believe that Chris Brown should have totally performed. I don’t believe that the BET Awards did a well enough tribute to Michael Jackson. One of the main reasons that I watched the BET Awards was to watch Chris Brown do a tribute. I thought the tribute portion, the whole BET Awards period, was not at its best. It wasn’t what I expected. Chris Brown would’ve spiced up the show. He would’ve pumped up the crowd. They only performed slow, somber-toned songs. No fast-paced, live songs. Now I don’t know if the whole Jay Z thing is true, but if it is, I think that that is very churlish. To stand in the way of somebody’s career and them paying respect to someone that they looked up to is not nice AT ALL. You wouldn’t want anyone to do that to you. But I guess you never know how someone feels until you place yourself in there shoes.

Yes he should have been able to perform. Don Cornelius beat his wife and she has two restraining orders on him, but he was there to honor the OJays. They praise TI constantly and he’s in jail for gun possession. Chris Brown was already given his punishment from the judge, so why should he have be kept away from honoring someone he truly looked up to? The Jacksons even requested the he perform because Michael stated that he believed in Chris’ talent. He even picked him to perform at the VMA’s before and wanted to work with him, so he should have been able to perform. Oh well, though. The entire show was pathetic and sucked anyway

I applaued BET for not allowing Chris Brown to perform…I do believe that he would have made the night but I also believe that by having him on that stage would of sent the message in saying that it is ok for what he has done. I had heard that he was performing and was looking forward to it. Judging solely from his James Brown tribute at the Grammy’s a few years ago I think he would have been a great inclusion. Especially considering the otherwise mediocre state of the awards. All these talented artists out there willing to pay their respects and to think THAT is how it all went down. Definitly didn’t live up to whatever hype it had created in the last few days.

Im actually happy he didnt perform, I dont care how bad the show was. I would have rather seen usher, genuwine, or JT dance (CB may be an excellent dancer but there are other ones too). I use to absolutely love CB… I MEAN LOVE< but what he has done has made me loose respect for him, and I think he got of easy, no jail time, just some comm. service, and little girls still love him. He beat the living CRAP out of someone he so called loved, he disrespected a woman, and then hes off recording, hanging out, like nothing. NO! He should not have performed for the reason of timing. It’s really sad how easy we are willing to forgive Chris for PHYSICALLY ABUSING a beautiful young woman when all these kids looked up to him. SAD!!! So, whether HOV did it or not, it should not have happened. Hopefully, Chris will learn a lesson from this…you are not above the law. You can’t smack up your girlfriend in front of the world and then jump on the stage with all the star like nothing happened. I do think it would have been special based on his talents but homey needs a timeout. Who is Jay-Z to prevent anyone from performing. It was not about Jay-Z it was about MJ. And if BET wanted CB to perform, that should not have let Jay make that decision for them. Besides, I could have really done without the self indulgent Beyonce and Joe Camel.
Over all the BET awards show was pretty bad and CB would have only made it better. The only other performances worth watching was Jamie & Maxwell. Basically the show was a FLOP.

ABSOLUTELY…..who is Jay Z to give orders…he should have asked Bet to take his wife Beyonce off the awards cuz her performance was a hot mess…i dont condone what Chris did but singing is still his career and he deserved to pay tribute to MJ…he was his mentour…Jay Z is a hater…was Rhianna his girl or what…cuz he is really concerned too hard….
