Album covers in surreal life remix

by on Jun.17, 2009, under articles

I see London, I see France... I see Xenu's underpants

These are awesome, and somehow the surreal theme (John Travolta in heels, Liberace cooking something in his underwear, Prince with an awkward boner… ok just kidding) makes them all the more enjoyable. What other mashups of albums could be done, and how tastelessly awesome could they be? If anyone knows of any other album cover mashups, please link them in the comments. [via reddit]

Britney Spears impersonator Lorna Bliss spends thousands on plastic surgery

by on Jun.17, 2009, under articles

lorna_bliss_britney_spears_impersonatorIn an attempt to keep up with what Britney Spears does to herself in the way of appearance, impersonator Lorna Bliss does whatever she can to keep her job. Even if that does involve shaving her head.

Bliss has already spent £135,000 over the past ten years on sexy costumes, dance lessons, choreographers,
makeup, hair extensions, and the like, just to keep up with her idol.

Bliss talked about the time when Britney went nuts and shaved her head. She said, “That was a very tough time. She received so much flak it made me cry. When she shaved her hairoff, my mum, Carmen, said, ‘You’re not going to do that, are you?’ and I said, ‘Oh no, no.’ But it’s my job to do what Britney does, and I’ve been impersonating her for so long, I feel there’s almost a spiritual connection between us.”

She added, “So, just like Britney, I took a pair of hair clippers and shaved my head right down the middle. When I saw the first bald strip in the mirror I wanted to stop because it looked so awful, but I had to continue until it was all gone. My mum cried when she saw it.”

Wow, that’s taking her job just a little too far, don’t you think?

Adam Lambert talks about his upcoming album

by on Jun.17, 2009, under articles

adam_lambert_interviewIn a recent interview, Adam Lambert dished the details on his upcoming album.

When asked about the album and whether or not it’s coming out in the fall, he answered:

Yes, that’s what I’ve been working on. We started right away with meetings about the sound and the vibe. They asked me, “Do you know of any producers that you would really want to work with?” and I have short list of producers, and fortunately we connected with all the ones I wanted to connect with. We started writing, and I’ve been able to co-write on a handful of tracks and there’s more to come.

He was also asked if he enjoys the writing process, to which he replied:

I love it! I really love it. And I love the recording process as well. Coming up with something new and original is so exciting. That’s the art of it all. And then the performance is another level. American Idol lets you explore yourself as a performer. … Being able to create the actual material you’re writing takes it to a whole new level because I’m getting to write lyrics that are from my perspective and messages I want to get out there and feelings and ideas I want to share.

Adam Lambert ‘star struck’ and intimidated by meeting Madonna

by on Jun.17, 2009, under articles

adam_lambert_starstruck_by_madonnaSeason eight “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert says that he was starstruck when he first met Madonna.

He says, “I’ve met a lot of people that I look up to, artists that I respect. That’s been crazy. Just last night I met Usher, Enrique Iglesias and My Chemical Romance at the studio. I’ve just been meeting these artists and they know who I am now because of the show and Rolling Stone … it’s just weird to be on the same page as them, so to speak.”

Lambert goes on to say that he met the one artist who left him the most star struck, Madonna. He adds, “I met Madonna and that was pretty wild. Most everybody I’ve met is pretty cool and on the level, but Madonna is just legendary. I’ve been a fan of hers since I was a kid. So that’s definitely part of the intimidation factor.”

I’d be star struck, too. She’s a total icon.

Susan Boyle coming to ‘America’s Got Talent’?

by on Jun.17, 2009, under articles

susan_boyle_coming_to_americas_got_talentWe have good reason to believe that “Britain’s Got Talent” star Susan Boyle might be heading stateside, if she’s well enough.

She’s had a quick rise to fame, but it comes with a price: all of the attention hoisted upon a 48-year-old woman and paparazzi are taking her photos constantly. I can’t imagine what that must be like. But she is deserving of her new-found fame, she’s an excellent singer and hopefully she’ll make us swoon with her voice over here in the U.S., as well.

Piers Morgan says, “If she’s up for it and she is well enough. Our feeling is she probably will. Absolutely! Susan singing live to 25 million Americans? That would be great!” He added that, “She still gets a bit tired sometimes, but she is 48.”

I can’t wait to see her sing here, live. She’s awesome!

Mariah Carey slams Eminem in new song, ‘Obsessed’

by on Jun.17, 2009, under articles

mariah_carey_disses_eminemIf you haven’t heard Mariah Carey’s new song, “Obsessed” yet, then go here. We’ll wait. Okay, obviously you must’ve heard her dissing him on her song.

Previously, Eminem released a song on “Relapse” called “Bagpipes From Baghdad” in which he tells Nick Cannon to back off and that he wants her back. Well, Mariah’s had enough and she’s firing back!

She sings, “You’re delusional, boy, you’re losing your mind… It must be weed, it must be the E… Why are you so obsessed with me? Lying that you’re sexing me. You’re a mom & pop, I’m a corporation/I’m a press conference, you’re a conversation.”

Obviously, one of them is out of their league here. Which one is it?
