11,000 Michael Jackson funeral tickets free to fans, details Friday

posted by roberta — Jul 3rd, 2009

michael_jackson_funeral_ticketsWe’ve just learned that the AEG Live is making 11,000 tickets to Michael Jackson’s memorial service free to fans. Fans wishing to attend the service will have to register for the free tickets, according to organizers.

The event will be taking place on Tuesday, July 7th at the Staples Center. More information will be announced Friday morning.

This busts the previous rumor that tickets were being sold for $25.00 apiece, along with t-shirts. It was said that the Jackson family weren’t trying to profit from his memorial service, but only trying to break even.

Stay tuned as details become available.

  1. Strange, the Staples Center has a concert capacity of 20,000. Wonder if AEG is giving 11,000 away and selling the rest?

  7. Please tell us where and when to register for the tickets as soon as you know, as I will be first in line. I was born in 73 and Michael Jackson’s music has always meant alot to me, it’s been the background music of my life! I always adored him, sent him letters of support when he was going through that awful ordeal, and am a true blue fan who misses Michael very much. I still can’t believe he’s gone. It would be an honor to be able to come to his memorial service. If they have 20,000 seats and sell the rest, that’s fine too. I’d buy tickets for my husband and kids. We all love Michael and I don’t see a thing wrong with selling tickets as I am sure it will be a memorial service like no other and priceless. Thank you, Debbie in Tulsa OK
