Ozzy Osbourne snubs guitarist Zakk Wylde
Shame on Ozzy Osbourne for trying to ditch Zakk Wylde and not tell him about it!
According to sources, the Prince Of Darkness is planning on working with Rob Zombie’s guitarist, Johnny 5. And he hasn’t let Zakk in on the secret, yet.
In a recent interview for Classic Rock magazine, Ozzy says, “I’m getting a new guitar player as we speak, and everyone has been saying to me for a long time, ‘Get Johnny 5!’ And I tried him at one time and I didn’t really give him a chance. We’ll see, I don’t know. I haven’t fallen out with Zakk, but Zakk’s got his own band, and I felt like my stuff was beginning to sound like Black Label Society. I just felt like I wanted a change, you know?”
This is news to Zakk, though, because the musician tweeted this:
I haven’t heard anything about this. Until I talk to the Boss I don’t know. I love Ozzy.

Unfortunately I am the one that posted the article to Zakk. I had no idea he did not know…I was more surprised that Zakk had not mentioned it in any interviews or on Twitter. I felt really bad and angry at Ozzy (probably more so at the puppet master herself, Sharon) for not letting Zakk know this. I found out through a friend who had posted Ozzy’s interview on Facebook. Such a shame…but Ozzy will lose a lot of followers because I personally feel that he is only still relevant because Zakk keeps him so.

Oh hell yes, Zakk is at least half the draw at this point, Oz will go down in flames with this move. He can’t blame Zakk for the Black Rain CD being horrible either, one listen to the lyrics on that one and it was hopeless from the start… could have mixed it more guitar heavy like an Ozzy album is SUPPOSED to be but Zakk had no control over that. Hope Sharon’s happy ruining her husband’s career, bringing in songwriters and now a new guitarist, dumb bitch.

I’m a Zakk Wylde fan, but I think Ozzy has a point. His music does lean toward BLS, but wouldn’t you expect that? Johnny 5 is a very diverse guitar player, and will probably do well. Although, if you are worried about sounding like a guitarist’s other band, wouldn’t you be better suited to find a fresh guitarist? Kinda like the break Zakk Wylde got? That, to me, would justify replacing Zakk Wylde, and ONLY because he has BLS to keep going. About Zakk not knowing…Kinda makes me wonder the validity of the whole story.
