Brooke Hogan featuring Flo Rida – Ruff Me Up

by on Jul.08, 2009, under articles

brooke_hogan_new_songBrooke Hogan’s new song, “Ruff Me Up” has just leaked and we have the audio for your listening pleasure (or not).

The song features Flo Rida and it sounds to me like it’s kind of danc-ey, but it still doesn’t fare well against popular dance tracks like anything by Lady Gaga. (continue reading…)

DJ Zebra’s Bootstock, a 40th anniversary tribute

by on Jul.07, 2009, under articles

I’ve been a fan of the French artist DJ Zebra for some time now, and was pleasantly surprised to get news that he’s been working on an exhaustive mashup compilation — the central theme being Woodstock festival (with a lot of original audio). What makes the whole thing so special is the refreshingly contemporary appeal of the whole project. From an intro by Country Joe Mc Donald that morphs into a chanting beat with Big Soul, Pink and Michael Jackson running through it (F*&k the Hippies) to a culmination with Jimi Hendrix jamming out on the guitar as the Beastie Boys in what is the obvious outlier to the whole set.

Download entire CD, get track list info and listen, all after the jump. (continue reading…)

chris_brown_amber_rose_kissingChris Brown and Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend, Amber Rose were snapped playing tonsil hockey with each other at Diddy’s white party.

Gross. Anyone who wants to date Chris after what he did to Rihanna, has to be out of their minds.

Is Michael Jackson being buried tonight at Forest Lawn Memorial Park?

by on Jul.06, 2009, under articles

michael_jackson_viewingWe’ve heard that Michael Jackson’s final resting place will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, but we’re not sure yet as to whether or not Michael’s body will be at his memorial tomorrow at Staples Center.

ET has streaming footage of the Jackson family arriving at the cemetery along with a police escort and a hearse.

I wonder if they’re burying him tonight or whether it’s just a private ceremony. Well, private I guess, until you count ET flying over their heads with a chopper trying to get some sort of scoop.

Update: We’ve just learned that Michael’s body will be on display front and center at the Staples Center tomorrow.

Nickelback lead singer hit by rock at concert – video

by on Jul.06, 2009, under articles

It seems Portugal’s youth aren’t too keen on Nickelback because someone started throwing rocks at the stage during their set (in what I can only assume was part of a larger concert with bands the Portuguese actually wanted to see).

But I guess someone didn’t appreciate Chad Kroeger‘s remarks to the crowd (“Have we got any Nickelback fans in Portugal?”; crowd seems to say no, or boo; “You guys wanna hear some rock and roll or go home?”; the answer came in the form of a rock to the noggin, at which point Chad rolls out). (continue reading…)
