Mariah Carey covers Foreigner’s ‘I Wanna Know What Love Is’

Mariah Carey did a cover of Foreigner’s song “I Wanna Know What Love Is” and it’s not bad. It’s not Foreigner and the song is a classic, but it’s okay for Mariah.

It’s not the original and it’s not perfect, but it’s okay. Thoughts?
This is amazing!!! …. this proves that Mariah still got it …. it’s very reminiscent to her work in the 90′s …… Awesome!!!

This is Exceptional, it’s a classic melody and sung by an exceptional vocalist, i love the tentative beginning and the explosive crescendo that shows off Mariahs Range with those tingling ear piercing high notes (Which i personally love)…..This should be number 1 and if it isn’t then ive lost faith in music industry, keep going mariah for your true fans!!!

I think it’s a good cover but it would have been better if it has been longer, i think it’s too short! So I wanted to know if the version of the cd will be longer! please answer me.

I lOVE IT. Incredible, but I wish it was longer cos I wanted more and it was ending. Very nice! :-)

I think the official version will be longer because this seems abruptly cut…. And I read from the listening parties that people attended, the official one is longer and even more powerful… Can’t wait!!! Go Mariah, you’re the best!

i love this song , its so amazing! i just can’t wait for the album to come out and show every mariah hater that no matter what they say and make up . she will always be the Diva with the best vocal range EVVER .. and the nummber one female artist of all time ! i adore mariah carey !

One of my favourite songs…………….. ruined by mariah carey. If this was being sung at the local karaoke she would be booed off. How about she writes her own songs instead of sponging from other peoples talents. If she did write her own stuff, at least its only her work she is ruining. The only way this could be worse is if it was a duet with Celine Dion

Ok, i don’t normally converse with the village idiots but in response to above:
1 Mariah writes her own stuff? Off the top of my head, Without You is by Neilson, I’ll be there is the Jackson 5, Bringing on the Heartbreak is by Def Leppard, Against All Odds is by Phil Collins. And I am not a Fan, I am sure others on this site can list more Cover versions.
2 Its Foreigner, not the foreigners you fool.

wow you named some of the covers she’s done. lets see… Vision of Love? WROTE IT. Always Be My Baby? WROTE IT. We Belong Together? WROTE IT. I could name every other song on her 11 albums BESIDES the covers but that would take too long.

Not realy, considering your first comment says she writes ALL her own songs. What you meant to say was she writes all her own songs apart from the ones she does a second rate karaoke job on. And dont worry, i do believe you could name every song from every album……………

Trying to look at the different possibilities here… hmmm… To start things off, the version is superb. As in, when was the last time we heard something like this from Mariah or even any other celebrity? I can’t recall the last time i heard a song that would make you stop anything that you’re doing just to listen to it.
But my fear is, just like everyone else, it may end up like her other covers. But I still have my fingers crossed coz this one is somewhat different from the others.
