Madonna rejected ‘Black Madonna’ cover art & album title
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.16, 2009, under articles
The rumored name for Madonna’s “Hard Candy” album was said to be “Licorice”, but according to sources, Madge had other plans for the album.
She originally planned to call the album, “Black Madonna”, showing her posing in black face makeup with red lips, but rejected it. I guess she wanted to be controversial, but not that controversial. Madonna took a moment and thought, “Hmmm…do I wanna alienate people? No? Okay, let’s scrap it.”
In an interview with “Rolling Stone”, she said, “I painted my face black, except for red lips and white eyes. It was a play on words. Have you ever heard of the Black Madonna? It has layers of meaning, and, for a minute, I thought it would be a fun title…Then I thought, ’25 percent of the world might get this, probably less, it’s not worth it.’”
Smart move on her part, because the other 75 percent might’ve been screaming “racist”.

Lady Gaga replaces Kanye West with Kid Cudi
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.15, 2009, under articles
Lady Gaga said that she and Kanye West parted ways on their “Fame Kills” tour due to “creative differences”, and has subsequently replaced him with Kid Cudi.
In case that name sounds familiar, it’s because he hacked up “Poker Face” and made it his own, newly titled song, “Make Her Say”.
Gaga has released this statement:
“Due to diligent work and preparation, The Monster Ball will begin on November 27 in Montreal. The Monster Ball is a multimedia artistic experience in the style of the first-ever ‘pop electro opera’.

John Mayer premieres new video for “Who Says’
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.14, 2009, under articles
I’ve just finished watching and listening to John Mayer’s new video for “Who Says”, and I’ve got to say that it’s thought-provoking, to say the least.
The singer wanders aimlessly with his mellow vocals and sings “Who Says I Can’t Get Stoned” and do other various things. Is he struggling with his own identity in this song? What do you think? I think it’s deep.
Welcome back, John, the music world missed you.

Leona Lewis was at Waterstones book store in London earlier today, signing copies of her autobiography, “Dreams”, when she was assaulted by a man.
The man allegedly slapped the singer, and was subsequently arrested.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said, “The female did not require hospital treatment – we are at the scene.”
That’s just awful, I hope she gets some better security for any future outings. Shame on that guy for hitting a lady.
