Queen still wants Adam Lambert

By ROBERTA — Nov 9th, 2009

91013A1_LAMBERT_A_B-GRThe guys in Queen are not giving up Adam Lambert without a fight! Brian May and Roger Taylor still want to snag Adam up to be their singer, even though he didn’t win “American Idol”.

In a recent interview, Roger said, “We did play in the finale of American Idol with the two final guys, one of whom is…Adam. He didn’t actually win…but he is one of the most phenomenal singers, and I think at some point in the future we’d love to do something with him. He’s phenomenally talented. He has one of the greatest voices I’ve ever heard.”

So if “For Your Entertainment” fails to sell, Adam can always do Queen. How cool would that be?

  4. Of course Queen wants Adam. I do too (LOL). Anyway, I’m sure they can collaborate on a song or two with him for his next album. I would love to hear what Adam and Queen could do together musically on some new songs. That could be fantastic.

  5. ADAM is PHENOMENAL! How can one who is sensationally phenomenal fail? After a couple of albums, ADAM can do anything he wants like collaborating with Queen or Slash or any other singer. Or maybe much later go on tour with Queen and ADAM as frontman. Or maybe come up with a classic or glam rock album. Or come up with covers, his own interpretation of songs – love songs, standard songs, dance tunes or even a X’mas album. ADAM can do anything and exceeds all expectations. He made me excited about Music Again.

  6. Queen would lose all credibility if they put this “Disco Diva” as their lead singer. I thought Queen was a rock band not a disco dance pop band.

  7. Adam would be a wonderful guest artist on Queen. Right now his other involvements make that an impossibility.

  9. LOL- Adam is not just pop, he is every genre, and has proven that time and again-Adam is on his way to becoming Iconic, his talent and beautiful personality will carry him to the top and he will be around for a long time. I understand why Queen would love to have Adam sing with their band, he is the only artist that could handle to do justice to their awesome music. These guys are pros, know talent, so anything a detractor would say against it just shows his/her ignornace and pettiness and complete lack of knowledge of what music is.

  10. Adam is his own artist. For Your Entertainment is an awesome song! I already bought 5 cd’s . The snippets of songs we heard are incredible! Fails to sell???? It’s been selling for a while now.

  11. A Time For Miracles showcases Adam’s voice. Not so sure about For Your Entertainment. That song really can be sung by anybody. I have always been a fan of Queen, but it’s probably not in Adam’s best interest to be part of that group…being compared to Freddie Mercury. Adam is an amazing talent! the best voice and stage presence I’ve heard and seen in a long time. Working with Brian May on an “Adam Lambert” album sounds like a great idea though. We want memorable songs, not radio-friendly garbage.

  12. Adam’s voice would be great along with Queen’s sound, and I’d rather see him influenced by people who have created enduring classics than the people he has been around and their here today and gone tomorrow electro crap.

  13. Adam has the vocal chops to do Queen beautiful justice and I would love to see them do some stuff together. Adam is also a highly creative artist though and to do just one bands music would never be enough. Adam is a pheonomenal artist in his own right. His ability to hit rock notes like Freddie Mercury is outstanding!!!

  14. Adam can do it all and should do it all!! Collaborate with Queen, do your own music and take us for the ride of our lives. Adam is the most talented vocal artist to emerge since Freddie Mercury. Can’t wait for his CD!!! Can’t wait to see what he does next. Adam Rocks!!!

  15. I could see Adam doing a CD with Queen as a guest, titled Adam Lambert with Queen, “Champions”. It would sell Kooboodles, however I would not want him to attach himself to any group unless it’s called “Adam Lambert and the Glamerites”, Adams own concoction. You go adam, could I bum a ride on your spaceship?

  16. The other guy who won with his cheating state never gets complimented like this. Adam has the entertainment industry praising him for what he is, one of the most outstanding singers ever. With all of his opportunities he will make the right choices. Their is no chance that his album will not be a success so Queen may have to wait.

  17. Always a few ‘party poopers’ on these sites. So far Pervert,..I mean Pervaz…(not to be rude, you’ve got that in-the-bag …but let me ask you…did it bother you that you were made fun of and disrespected? You’re probably no more a pervert than Adam is a Disco Diva,so why bother with the insults?) is the only person on this site not ‘lovin” our Adam. Oh,well,Adam will be fine without him. On topic,I would like to see Adam do some kind of collaboration with Queen (a couple of concerts, perhaps)in the future, but for now I think it is important for Adam to stay focused on HIS dream. If these two super-powers should ever hook-up,that would be crazy-wonderful!!

  18. Damn… Brian and Roger REALLY want Adam, they are not giving up easy. Well, what can I say? To be honest, I’ve only heard 30 seconds of Adam singing (yes, I managed to escape Lambertmania, lol) and I must say I was blown away. I’d like for it to happen, to be honest. Adam is too talented for simple pop music, and I know his label will be seeking to do that just because it guarantees more record sales. I mean, look at Kelly Clarkson, she’s been fighting her label forever to have more creative control, and they rarely grant her it. I want Queen to rescue Adam from a potentially restrictive solo career. And I’d also like for Queen to change their name, cause let’s be honest it’s not Queen without Freddie or John Deacon. Oh yeah, and Pervaz, if you knew anything about Queen, you’d know that they dabbled in pop, r&b, funk and disco. They’re weren’t strictly a rock band. Don’t tell me you’ve never heard of “Another Bites The Dust” and “Under Pressure”, two massively popular songs and neither of which were rock.

  19. I keep the video link of Queen’s performance with Adam and Kris on my desktop, ready for instant play for a quick pick-me-up. Adam’s outstanding vocals on “We are the Champions” practically made him iconic from the American Idol stage. Can’t blame Roger and Brian for wanting to colloborate with this hugely talented and charismatic man.

  20. A collaboration with Queen would be a dream come true for both Queen fans and Adam Lambert fans.

We would love to see Adam perform with them, even as a guest.

How about a huge charitable performance with Queen, Adam? It could be recorded and a DVD and album sold of the live performance?

  21. Pervaz, you’re a moron. I guess you missed the parts where Lambert sang with Queen, a rock band, and KISS, another rock band and huh, how about that, he held his own spectacularly. Hell, was Queen a rock band? With Freddy it seemed like they were an opera or something else entirely. I think the fact that Lambert CAN sing anything is a good reason to have him sing with Queen. I only hope that if they Do get Lambert on they just call themselves Queen and not Adam Lambert with queen. Why? It’s simple, aside from that OTHER guy there singing We Are the Champions, when Lambert was singing, it sounded like Queen for once since 1991 when Made in Heaven was released. It’s not like when they had Paul Rogers sing and it sounded like some old guy trying to sing Queen in a cover band. Don’t get me wrong, I like Paul but only on his own stuff. Lambert on We are the Champions, it was eerie but only Freddy ever made me get teary eyed during a live performance like that. It SOUNDED LIKE QUEEN DAMMIT!

Thing is i know this makes me sound like I’m some groupie and I watched every minute of American Idol but I didn’t, I never watch that show and i just happened to take a look at the live Queen performance he did at the behest of a professional singer friend of mine. MY GOD, I wish I had watched him more closely. I was shocked! I closed my eyes listening to that performance. He did stuff only Freddy ever did live. I hope they DO get him in there for Queen.
