Aretha Franklin Sings ‘My Country Tis Of Thee’ At The Inauguration Of Barack Obama

Aretha Franklin sang “My Country Tis Of Thee” at today’s Inauguration ceremony for President Barack Obama. The lady’s got some pipes! She did great, though.

And Barack is sitting there cheesin’, like, “They got Aretha for me”. Wonder if they had to pay her to perform.

Loved it.

    I gotta tell all of you that I thought Aretha Franklin did not do justice to “My Country Tis Of Thee”. I thought it sounded terrible. She can wear any hat she wants, but, don’t mess with one of the best songs ever written.

    She did great !! It was freezing out there. You do have to inhale, you know. That air was durn cold and she did a rousing job !!
