Bikini Girl Katrina Darrell Auditions For American Idol

This was too funny. I didn’t watch American Idol yesterday (or any other day really), but this girl, Katrina Darrell, auditioned in a bikini. She started busting out with “Vision of Love” by Mariah Carey and just about murdered it.

Simon quickly said yes to her and Randy soon followed. New judge Kara DioGuardi didn’t have anything nice to say, which means she’s my second favorite judge already. Kara started singing the song and told Katrina that she doesn’t have the chops to sing a song like that. Honesty, finally!

Maybe they brought in Kara so that Simon wouldn’t always look like the bad guy. Anyways, even though this girl wasn’t that good of a singer, she got through to Hollywood, thanks to Paula Abdul. Even though she said later that the girl was terrible, she put her through. Kara said, “Next time come naked.” Loved it. Oh how I’ve missed the American Idol auditions.

    I thought she sang pretty well. I disagree with Kara.I mean the bikini definately helped.But I really did’nt think she was that bad.I think Kara and Paula were a little jealous of her perfect figure Maybe?

    Hey…what happened to the video? You can’t get it anywhere…seems that AI has copywrited this girl and her audition. What’s up with that? Maybe E online has it. Weird. You know that AI has got their hands out to make some bucks and she was probably getting alot of hits…so…they step in and do their thing. *sigh* Getting really sick of them. I had resigned myself of them and someone told me about her. Wanted to hear her. Boom…they pull it off the internet. Why?… is all I want to know. Do they constantly want to cut their viewership? Stab themselves in the back over and over? I mean, the Taylor thing was awful…but now…they continue to destroy their own show. I won’t watch now for sure…and I was softening up. Ha~!

    Oh, I so agree. What does she have to prove? She has a beautiful voice, has so much success also as a song writer, making the big bucks now on the show, is a good looking lady…I mean? What? I guess rivalry will exsist between some women no matter what.

    She also stated something about…Why didn’t she just come naked the next time. These contestants get into that audition room by having either something freaky about them, something unusual…or extremely sellable from many other judges including Ryan outside those doors…Taylor had the silver hair. So…why make fun of them when that is almost a requirement. I have heard over and over…the game…and so have many of these contestants too. Many talents sit outside never even being interviewed by the FOUR now.

    OR…maybe this is just an act. This is not reality at all. The judges play parts with these kids. This is probably in their contracts. Simon is told to keep up with the rudeness but that one show I saw, plenty enough rudeness by all of the judges. Not necessary. Telling some guy that he should sing over voices as a monster? Isn’t that what was said? *shaking head*…JMO

    Kara was right to say the things she said and all she was doing was demonstrating what the song should sound like, that bikini girl just had her head way up her ass. Her voice just needs a little improvement, but Mariah Carey shoes, is a BIG one to fill especially in an audition. Enough said, lets put this in the past and move on!!! I think this year is going to have a lot of good singers. Excited!!

    i don’t think her voice was awful- but it wasn’t very good either. she definitely needs some work. and as soon as she walked in there in a bikini the judges didn’t take her seriously as a singer. the men only saw a hot half naked girl and the women saw a slutty half naked girl. that was a bad move on her part. i don’t care how hot she is, it’s stupid to walk into an audition like that. and she had the kind of voice that if she had shown up fully clothed they may or may not have let her in. so obviously the bikini helped her get through. but it’s not exactly the attention i’d want. i’d want to get through based mostly on my voice.. and she didn’t.. also i don’t think kara was being bitchy when she said what she said. kara and paula both were surprised that simon said yes right away considering she wasn’t that good. kara was simply singing it the way it’s supposed to sound. then the girl got bitchy at kara. and then making out with ryan.. wow.. classy.

    Did you notice her eyes were too close together? There was nothing attractive about her except maybe her ass…She had no boobs and she sucked at the Mariah Carey Song I mean come on…..UGH

    I am not so sure that it was a bad move for her to have appeared in a bikini. She wanted to get noticed…and most of the great voices, never get heard. You have to have something unique or you don’t get near Paula and gang.

    On that note…I thought she was ok…needed some training…and next time she should wear something other than a swimsuit. AI has partly become a freak show and if you have to…make a fool out of yourself and maybe get a show on TV Guide. JMO. Maybe more reality shows…Maybe a record deal…modeling career…a boyfriend or vice versa. Celeb status happens to these kids…that have that determination to do anything to get noticed. They end up making some big bucks…if they can stand the heat. Better than being jobless or broke. JMO
