Buckcherry Frontman Josh Todd to replace Steven Tyler in Aerosmith?

josh_todd_replacing_steven_tylerEven though it’s been said that the guys in Aerosmith are not breaking up, Steven Tyler might be on hiatus from the band for an entire two years.

Joe Perry has said that the band still wants to play, so they may be looking around for replacements. In a new poll, “Rolling Stone” asked its readers who should replace the aged rocker. The readers responded that Buckcherry’s frontman, Josh Todd, would be an adequate replacement.

Here are their top five replacement selections:

1. Josh Todd (Buckcherry)
2. David Johansen (New York Dolls)
3. David Lee Roth
4. Iggy Pop
5. Adam Lambert

I don’t think anyone would be able to replace Steven Tyler. He’s unique, old school, and classic. To replace that would take away from the band’s signature sound. What do you think?

    I agree. I think it’s wrong that Steven Tyler is creating all this drama but I would hate to see him replaced

    I think that the whole thing is very flattering for Josh. I personally am a huge fan of both he and Steven: but, I also can’t imagine anyone else singing Steven’s songs. I certainly would mind hearing Josh with the Joe Perry project though : )

    I just love seeing both bands do well, and I can hardly wait to hear some new material.

    I dont think that Aerosmith is Aerosmith w/o Steven Tyler. So even though I absolutely love Josh, he should definately stay with Buckcherry. Why throw all that hard work down the drain?

    I love both Josh and Steven. If Steven don’t wan’t to play anymore, it’s okay. But I don’t think that Josh shall give up Buckcherry for that thing. He belongs to Buckcherry and Steven belongs to Aerosmith. Nobody can ever replace him. But I’m not shure that Josh actually wants the job. It’s still just some fans who votes.

    Well heck guys, if it is such a problem then let them go on with their solo careers. Joe Perry is talented equally to Tyler only in a different sense! And the fact that Todd has worked really hard in his own band let a new up and coming star like Lambert fill in for Tyler for a short while until Tyler remembers where he started at.

    ST can not be replaced. Aerosmith would not be Aerosmith without ST and Buckcherry would not be Buckcherry without Josh Todd.

    That being said, I do think that the readers voted right. If Josh Todd wasn’t with Buckcherry and Aerosmith was dying for a lead singer, he’d be the best choice.

    But, alas, both Aerosmith and Buckcherry are working on their new 2012 albums and all is well with both bands!
