DJ AM’s documentary ‘Gone Too Far’ to air on MTV

90514TC1_GOLDSTEIN_B_GR_01Adam Goldstein was working on a drug abuse documentary, titled “Gone Too Far” for MTV before he was found dead of an apparent drug overdose last month.

It was up in the air as to whether or not MTV would be airing the documentary, because of the way he passed away. Now, we’ve just heard that show producers have decided to air the series.

MTV executives are still in talks over when the show will actually air and have been talking with the Goldstein family about the timing. I think he would’ve wanted it to air to help people with the demons they’re suffering from.

The show’s original air date was set for October 5, 2009.

My nephew – Sean Matussek – was the subject of the final episode (#8) and was in the process of filming when Adam Goldstein died… Ultimately, Sean did get to go to the rehab fascility even though DJ AM was ‘gone’. Where does that leave Sean’s ‘unfinished’ episode? It was an EXTREMELY emotionally upsetting issue for us (Sean and family) to be in the PROCESS of the intervention just when DJAM died. There are no words to describe what we went through (and are still going through) …please – an update….?
