Gene Simmons says Adam Lambert killed his career by coming out

kiss_adam_lambertWow. I can’t believe Gene Simmons would say that Adam Lambert has ruined his career by coming out of the closet.

Simmons said, “He killed his career because now the conversation is not about his talent but about his sexual preference. He’s done. I hope I’m completely wrong. I hope he becomes the next Beatles and proves me wrong.”

Simmons was nice in the interview, he added, “Adam was fantastic. What a powerful and attractive man he is. He can come on tour whenever he’d like.”

So bittersweet, wasn’t it?

    It shouldn’t hurt his career any more than Simmon’s Jewish background. I’m not a fan of Lambert, nothing he has done appeals to me personally, but I could care less about someone’s penis/vagina preference when listening to music (which is to say: who cares?).

    He needs to stop being a GLAAD spokesperson and go back to focusing attention on his singing, though… because that will kill his career.

    Gene got his name in the news, now go away Gene you raving hypocrite, I’m sick of you carrying on this over the last month. Adam is the new generations super star, and in this day and age people are so much more evolved as to care whether some is gay,straight, sleeps around like Gene claims he did……get over it. Gene you look like a fool.
    I can’t wait for Adam CD and I miss seeing him every week on Idol, he has fans all over the world and that’s what matters, his career will be just fine and will out do anything Gene ever did.

    Adam Lambert has not killed his career! Why should he have to hide his sexuality? I want his music and I don’t care if he is gay – that’s his personal life. And he’s hot as hell! It’s good he has cleared this question, now people can focus on the import things – his music. Looking forward to his CD!

    well,Gene seems to be talking about Adam’s sexuality and sexual preferance,AGAIN. the way to move on is to tell it like it is and ,gasp, move on. which is what adam is doing. not gene though. he knows what will land him in the media spotlight yet again, any port in a storm. why not just say adam is an attractive man,a very talented man, a man who will make a lot of money for anyone who will invest in him. OH WAIT! gene ALREADY said that! give it a rest,Mr.Simmons,and crawl back into your kiss cave.

    Riding on ADAM’s coattails. Gene, your career had been killed long time ago. Beacuse of Adam, you have risen from death. But after this, you killed your only chance of regaining a career. So long , Gene, Rest in Peace. Go ADam!

    If Adam Lambert were not a fantastic artist/singer, I wouldn’t want to buy his music. I can’t imagine why his sexual orientation would play into whether I would buy his music or not. The fact that he is honest makes him more appealing, not less.
