Michael Jackson to receive Lifetime Achievement Grammy

90626A1_JACKSON_M_B-GR_01The late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is set to be honored at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards with a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.

His career spanned an entire four decades, with the recording academy President Neil Portnow insisting he has contributed “the most distinguished and influential recordings.”

Also receiving a Lifetime Achievement Grammy will be Leonard Cohen. Portnow added, “Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy that has positively affected multiple generations, and will continue to influence generations to come.”

The ceremony is being held in Los Angeles on January 31, 2010.
