New Kids On The Block cancel Australian tour due to recession

new_kids_on_the_block_australian_tourNew Kids On The Block were all set to tour Australia, but have had to cancel, blaming the economy. On their official website, Donnie Wahlberg said, “We are, in fact, in the middle of a worldwide recession and we just cannot make it work.”

He added that the group had “exhausted efforts” to get to tour their, but it had proven “too complex.”

Wahlberg added, “Despite warnings that the financial problems plaguing the world would compromise the Australian tour – they never gave up on this dream and neither did we. However – I’m sorry to say that now – it is true. We can only assure you that when the recession’s stranglehold on the world’s economies eases up a bit – we will find a way to make this work.”

That’s funny, Britney Spears is touring all over the place and hasn’t been hit by the recession. I’m just sayin’.

Try this: Call a radio station in the U.S. & ask them to play New Kids on the Block. Call a radio station in Australia & ask them to play New Kids on the Block. My guess is that they will laugh at you. The media is still stuck in 1988, calling NKOTB music “bubble gum pop.” Have you heard their new album, The Block? I certainly wouldn’t let MY kid listen to it. Their music is strictly for adults and it’s better than any album they have ever put out. If you knew all this, you would know why this is happening but it’s obvious there hasn’t been any research done for this blurb. I’m just sayin’.
