Piers Morgan Defends Susan Boyle Over Backlash

“Britain’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan is striking back at all of the backlash that Susan Boyle has been receiving lately.

He wrote, “The Susan Boyle backlash has already started, and pretty unedifying it is too. She’s had a ‘terrible’ makeover, she’s ‘cracking up’, she ‘lied’ about not being kissed and so on. It’s so typically British to do this, and so utterly pathetic.”

He added, “Susan is a lovely, decent, church-going, modest and kind woman who is dealing with becoming the hottest star on the planet with remarkable patience and good humor. She is a fabulous advertisement for our country, and her success is a wonderful testament to the powers of persistence, positive thought, and living a dream, however unlikely the chances of realizing it. Those who seek to knock her down just when that dream finally comes true in the most sensational fashion possible, are nothing but cruel, heartless toads. They should just all shut up, give Susan a break, and let her enjoy her extraordinary moment in the global spotlight.”

Go Piers! I couldn’t agree more. Let Susan have these moments when people are recognizing her and putting her up on a pedestal. She deserves it, and a record deal, even if she doesn’t win the show.

    I agree with Piers. The naysayers should just shush up and get out of the way. She’s earned her place in the spotlight and to try and tear her down right as she gets the feel of her wings and begins to soar is heartless. But than again, the meanies out their have to have someone to pick on don’t they? No matter. There may be a handful of fools gawking and talking, but there are millions of fans supporting her. To the moon and stars Susan!!

    Susan Boyle has been called “slow,” and didn’t get a singing career because she lived with her parents and didn’t try.

    The world “fell in love” and now is getting sick of her. That’s life. It’s not some “dare to live the dream” story here, but a carefully staged reality TV show that exploited a slow, simple, overweight woman…and an equally complict, because fickle, public audience.

    Poor fat, ugly Susan Boyle will be the one hurt here.

      Susan isn’t fat and ugly. Susan is *real* and normal and what millions of people on this planet can identify with. Just because she’s not airbrushed and injected and implanted and anorexic doesn’t make her ugly. She has a wonderful spirit and is a kind, gentle woman who deserves to have a chance. People who judge her by society’s standards are the sad ones because they have lost the ability to see past the surface and into the heart. I feel sorry for you because you cannot comprehend that she is not poor. She is rich in ways you will never be.
