Was Chris Brown slated to open the BET Awards?

chris_brown_thrillerWe had previously speculated that Jay-Z prevented Chris Brown from taking the stage at the BET Awards, in honor of Michael Jackson. A screen shot on MediaTakeOut has confirmed that Chris “Breezy” Brown was set to open the show.

Underneath their Twitter announcement, it says, “Breezy is opening the show!”

Rumor has it that Jay-Z and Beyonce both threatened to pull their performances if Chris was allowed to perform.

We aren’t sure if this is the case, but wouldn’t it be low of them if this were true?

    I think it is low for CB to punch a woman’s face in….and then get probation. NOW THAT IS LOW. Get your priorites straight fellas. Poor old CB can run home to mommy and cry all he wants, but he deserves much worse than that…like wearing an orange jumpsuit.

    MediaTakeout does not have much credibility in my view, …..but if it is true, I earned MORE respect for JayZ and Beyonce. No probation here.

      I completely agree with Mark and still why is everyone speculating about the BET awards and why CB didn’t perform. The awards show was lacked a lot. Sure there were last minute changes as to some artists giving tribute to MJ but still it should’ve run better. Ne-Yo performed way too much and regardless I’ve read elsewhere that it had nothing to do with Jigga and Bey and more of Covergirl: a major sponsor on BET as well as Rihanna is a spokesperson for CG too PLUS Viacom is also said to have been a major part of why he didn’t perform <– read on many blogs so till there’s concrete evidence like an email or something written in stone I’ll take this like a grain of salt because it seems as though people just want to hate hate hate <– yup a dave chappelle skit phrase

    Beyonce need to wonder why Jay-z is so overly protective about rihanna…we dont know what happened in the car..and rihanna wanted to get back with chris brown…Jay -z is almost or is 40yrs old he should not be hating on chris he should be helping him and being a role model for him..Jay-z is seen on a video slapping the shit out of a woman..
