Britney Spears has jumped on the Help Haiti bandwagon and has donated her dress from the 2008 Video Music Awards to the cause.

On Friday, Britney appeared in court for her conservatorship hearing and asked for permission to auction off the sparkly dress for Haiti.

The singer has taken to her Twitter account to announce that she is donating one-hundred percent of her merchandise profits to the people of Haiti.

News has just reached us that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have split up, officially.

Sure the source is Star magazine, but BreakingNews on Twitter has also issued a statement regarding the matter. They tweeted, “Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie sign papers to formalize legal separation, with joint custody of six children.”

I didn’t know it would be a legal separation, considering they were never married, but call it what you will. In the future, they will be sharing the rainbow nation between them. I guess the rumors were true this time.

Update: We’ve heard that, according to their rep, these rumors are untrue. Hey, we’ve been wrong before, and I’m glad we were about this one. That would have been so hard on their kids.

Steven Tyler may be taking an official break from Aerosmith, but he can’t seem to get away from it. And we don’t want him to, either.

The singer made his first public appearance after checking into rehab at a karaoke contest at a Palm Desert bar. He proceeded to sing “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” and was said to have been “very gracious and very kind.”

Karaoke organizer Mike May said, “All of a sudden, near the end of the song, he grabbed the mic and started singing. The whole frickin’ bar surrounded him and he just started singing the whole thing. It was, like, one of those moments – a club DJ’s dream come true.”

Thank God for celebrities who care, like Shakira and countless others.

The Colombian singer is planning to build a school for the children in Haiti whose lives have been turned upside-down by the earthquake that ravaged the nation last week.

She is set to perform on tonight’s Hope For Haiti Now telethlon, but she also wants to continue helping those affected.

Per ContactMusic:

Through her Barefoot Foundation, the star has teamed up with the Architecture for Humanity charity to build a school after the relief effort has helped get Haitians back on their feet. And Shakira hopes the school will mirror the success of the education facility she launched in her native Columbia, which provides teaching, nutrition and counseling for kids in need.

She says, “There is a great need for immediate aid in Haiti, but also for longer-term reconstruction. For that reason, we are doing our small part to help Haiti rebuild and give the children affected by this disaster the chance to learn and thrive. I hope we can use some of what we’ve learned working in Colombia to help Haiti’s children recover. When we educate children we empower societies, and right now Haiti needs all of our help.”

If you were like me, when you read that Rihanna story about how she is hooking up with another abusive guy, then you were concerned for her. I like her and I love her music and thus, I don’t want to see another incident like the one she suffered at the hands of Chris Brown. (Yes, I’m going to continue to write about it, it happened, regardless. Suck it haters.)

Now that she’s dating Matt Kemp, we’ve had to check on him. Of course we all want to see her happy, that’s not even of question. After finding out about his past, we weren’t very pleased at her pattern of choices. His ex-girlfriend’s rep has come forth to defend Kemp, letting us know that he’s not a bad guy after all.

A rep for Terrell, who once lived with Kemp, tells us: “During the course of the relationship there was a restraining order filed by Felisha but it had nothing to do with domestic violence and to be clear Matt was NEVER physically abusive to Felisha, nor did she fear for her life. The restraining order was subsequently vacated. They both have moved on separately but remain amicable.”
