David Letterman wanted Conan O’Brien for Super Bowl ad
If you watched the Super Bowl (or just the commercials), then you may have run across the new ad for late night television featuring Jay Leno, Oprah Winfrey and David Letterman.
Dave thought it was a good idea and wrote it out. He called CBS for the green light and they loved it. The only missing piece? Conan O’Brien.
‘Late Show’ executive producer Rob Burnett approached Conan’s camp about appearing in the commercial, but his request wasn’t met with a response. “It wasn’t as if they even said no,” Burnett said. “I just think they weren’t in a position to consider it all.”
It would have been ten times better if Coco were there. Don’t you agree?

Because it's tacky. The whoring out for advertising is one thing when it's your own show, but for a 30-second commercial it is just tacky.

It would make absolute ZERO sense for conan to be in the commercial, he isn't on the tonight show anymore, that's why he didn't consider it. lol I'm sure conan would've done it if he were still on the tonight show.

I disagree. Firstly, the commercial wasn't funny at all in its current state. With all of the buzz surrounding Conan, it would've been funny to include him, just for them to say that the hatchet is buried. His feud with Letterman has long been over with, but the Leno/O'Brien feud was fresh. What I didn't get was why Oprah was there.
