Chris Brown defends Tiger Woods
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.24, 2010, under articles
In a new radio interview, disgraced singer Chris Brown has defended Tiger Woods, because he definitely knows how the public backlash feels.
He talked to the Mojo In The Morning radio show and said, “Nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on somebody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them. Whatever his personal life is and I think this goes for me and him — his personal life is his personal life.”
“Like they might be a fan, or might support what they’re doing but like if he plays golf, like that’s his sport, that’s his hobby, that’s his love, that’s what people love him for. They don’t love him for the other stuff that they talking about. I think, even with me, like I do music, I sing songs, like I’m an entertainer, I’m a performer, but people make mistakes. So my hat is off to him — I support him, I hope he gets back on the field and does his thing, cause he is the best at it.”
Tiger Woods should respond and say, “Sheesh, I only had sex with girls, you beat up Rihanna, so no thanks for the hat tip, dude.”

Jennifer Lopez talks about record label drop
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.24, 2010, under articles
As you may have heard, Jennifer Lopez got dropped by her record label, Sony, recently. She has assured fans that the future of her new album, Love? is not in question.
The new album was set for release on April 10, 2010, but her manager announced earlier in the week that she had departed from her label.
Jennifer says that her departure from the label was friendly and she still wants to release Love? as soon as she can.
She said, “I am making this statement to put an end to any confusion in regards to my next album, titled Love. I have belonged to the Sony family since the beginning of my career as a singer and together we’ve had great success. I have fulfilled my contractual responsibilities with Sony/Epic up to this point, and we have both reached friendly terms about my departure from the label. I am also happy to say that we’ve found a new home for my album Love and that it is slated for release in the summer of 2010.”
Will you buy it?
EarSucker thanks you!
by Stephen VanDyke on Feb.24, 2010, under articles
Every so often, we like to thank everyone who helps us at Earsucker and makes this site just get bigger and bigger. We get around 10K visits a day (OMG that’s like a whole stadium full of people). I know this might seem like a stupid idea to some folks who are all like: STFU and burn in a fire, your site actually sucks. Those people aren’t going to like this site no matter what we do, and it’s ridiculous trying to please everyone. But I just want to say thanks! As a bonus, here’s our new ABOUT PAGE!
Who/what is EarSucker? Well, it’s really just the name of this website, which is supposed to evoke a more musical theme. I like to think it’s a good name for the wormy part of your brain that translates auditory sound frequencies into feelings (I love this song!). You’ll have to forgive me if things sound nerdy there, but I’m
a cold-calculating robot machine that is trying to learning emotionsa bit of a psychologist and enjoy simplifying the human experience. And speaking of human experience, this site gets about 10,000 people a day (at time of writing, see stats) experiencing some emotion or another. Whether they hate some punk upstart or commercialized pop artist, or they love them, we like to hear about it and serve the human planet earth’s appetite for that news. Are we curing cancer or solving world peace? I guess not directly. Does music usually intertwine with the human experience in solving those problems? Absolutely. So when you read and participate on EarSucker, just remember that in a small way: you are making the world a better place, if only for yourself to later conquer your problems. Try not to be angry human, it doesn’t helpful. Am disappoint.
The robots that run this siteWe here at Earsucker also invite anyone and everyone to join us in our quest to spread the Earth planet’s love/hate of music sounds and visions to the widest audience possible. Right now the process is tedious and I deal with it, but upgrades are happening on a continuous basis to send the human owners more advertising money to accumulate resources. Some of these resources will go towards alcoholic beverages. The content on this site is mostly a product of the most influential people, which you are invited to join for free (just ask in the email, an account will be created). You may find individual views creeping into the writing from time to time, but we also value your input comments and helpful participation. Artist interviews happen as anyone is able to get them (that means you should call up Beck and record it, LOL), news coverage happens as you hear about it, music reviews happens as you learn of them. You should participate in this inclusive and free intarweb site to help make it better, there are already a lot of people reading it! Spammers can fuck off, yo.
If you find anything in a post to be factually incorrect or if you simply disagree, please respond via comments respectfully and set the record straight. External links and good-humor will certainly help your arguments.
THANKS THANKS THANKS! I know we are again asking anyone and everyone to step forward and help us make the site even better. It’s just that I like to let anyone get on the microphone and shout their rap out there, that’s how I roll, so if you want to be heard on Earsucker, all you have to do is send email to tips@earsucker.com. Just ask for an account or send your links.
UPDATE: I forgot to mention that EarSucker is a Google News Source™ which is supposed to be a BIG DEAL and silly of me to forget mentioning because it means any stupid thing we say gets sent out alongside AP and Reuters, which is really cool when you think about it.

Well I have to say wow, these guys are really coming into their own with the Autotune the news franchise. Robert Pattinson confirms Kristen Stewart relationship
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.23, 2010, under articles

According to The Sun, Robert Pattinson has confirmed that he is, in fact, dating his Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart. After months and months of speculation and rumors, the duo are really dating.
The duo were shrouded in secrecy at Sunday’s BAFTAs, but at the dinner afterward, he admitted what we’ve wondered since we knew of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.
According to Robert the cloak-and-dagger stuff is just to avoid attention.
He said: “It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes. We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy. This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy. We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention.”

Video: Chris Golightly butchers Michael Jackson song
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.23, 2010, under articles
Chris Golightly held a press conference because he’s trying to convince American Idol producers that he deserves another shot on the show.
Chris was ousted from the show over record contract issues, but says that it’s not fair. To prove (or not) that he’s got the chops to go forward in the competition, he sang Michael Jackson’s “Man In The Mirror”.
It was awful, to say the least. (continue reading…)

Adam Lambert disses Susan Boyle?
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.23, 2010, under articles
Uh oh! Apparently Adam Lambert has a little bit of a bone to pick with Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle.
When speaking to a magazine recently the American Idol singer said that he didn’t like her debut album. Prior to that, he said that the UK is more tolerant with homosexuality and androgyny.
Speaking to the leading gay monthly, the performer said: “I just think that you guys in the UK are way ahead in terms of tolerance. It’s really interesting. In the UK and in Europe it’s less of an issue because people are more comfortable with their sexualities.
“And not just the gay thing, but even playful things, like the concept of androgyny. That is something that generally many Americans are uncomfortable with.”
He later went on to discuss Susan Boyle, who kept him off the top spot in the charts. He said: “I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible. Wild Horses is the one that just made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!”

Robot drumming machine with a Wiimote
by Stephen VanDyke on Feb.22, 2010, under articles
Popsci has a really cool article about Jazari, a drum machine robot thing that Patrick Flanagan built so he could play some drums and other percussion instruments with his Wii remotes:
A musician has harnessed the power of two Nintendo Wiimotes to become a cyborg percussionist with the robo-band Jazari. His playing of one drum machine can evoke an automated response from another, so that he can go around the drum circle in a beautiful display of human-robot improvisation.
The man behind the machine, Patrick Flanagan, is a composer who cites music theory, music cognition, and machine learning as the three “chin-stroking disciplines” that influence his work. He created Jazari with a nod to Al-Jazari, a polymath of the Arab world in the 13th century who supposedly created the world’s first robot band.
I think he built something really cool, but dances like a white guy. Watch a video of the bot in action after the jump. (continue reading…)
