Bret Michaels’ doctor, Dr. Joseph Zabramski, is about to give an update on the singer’s condition, from a conference room in Phoenix, Arizona.

He said that, upon admission, they performed a CAT scan to determine the source of the bleeding in Bret’s brain. He then showed photos of the brain hemorrhage that Bret is suffering from. He went on to say that Bret was lucky that he got to the emergency room and when Bret got to the ER, he was lethargic and unaware of his surroundings.

By the next morning, his level of consciousness was returned to normal, so they decided to do angiograms, both of which were negative. He said that Bret remains in critical condition and that they are concerned that there might be deterioration. They are continuing to keep a close eye on him.

On April 28th, they did another angiogram and checked for anything that could result in a recurrent hemorrhage. He said that the blood clot has been dissolve and it has irritate the brain. He said that Bret is suffering from back pain and they cannot treat him with steroids due to his diabetes. He is currently suffering from chemical meningitis.

He is improving and it could take seven to ten days before the blood will completely dissolve and that Bret would be able to resume his activities.

Bret has been discharged, but the doctor declined to give details. He expects Bret to make a one hundred percent recovery and to resume all of his normal activities. He did say that Bret continues to receive physical therapy and said that he would review Bret’s medical case again in two weeks.

Bret is walking and talking, but not very well. He said that Bret is stable and is no longer in critical condition and did not suffer any seizures.
