Bristol Palin says she wasn’t forced to do Dancing With The Stars

Last week, former Dancing With The Stars competitor, Margaret Cho, said that Bristol Palin was forced to do the show by her mother Sarah. She revealed that Sarah felt that Bristol’s poorly timed pregnancy cost her the election in 2008. So, in order to get her back in the good graces of the nation, she had Bristol perform on the show. Makes sense to me.
Bristol is firing back at the claims, though. Us Magazine reports:
“I will give my friend credit for creativity, and extra points for getting so many ‘facts’ wrong in so few sentences,” she blogged. “Let me be blunt: my mom did not “force” me to go on DWTS. She did not ask me either. The show approached me.”
“Anyone who watched the show could tell I performed better, and I felt better about myself, when they were in the audience,” Bristol wrote. “I wanted to make them both proud, but politics had nothing to do with it. Loving my parents had everything to do with it.”
In a final zinger to Cho, Bristol urged the star to develop a fuller understanding of conservative politics. If that happens, says the teen activist, Cho “would embrace us faster than k.d. lang at an Indigo Girls concert.”
I’m not buying it…are you?
