Dolce & Gabbana feared hiring Madonna for ad campaign

Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana had to give hiring Madonna a second thought, because they felt that hiring the singer would damage their friendship.

Gabbana told “W” magazine, “There was sort of fear on our behalf of asking Madonna to do anything business. We thought it could impact our relationship, and Madonna is one of the few people we’re really in awe of. To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true.”

Her ads look tasteful and pretty, Steven Klein did a fantastic job with the photography.

Probably because Madonna has a notorious reputation for being hard to work with. I can’t say I blame them for not wanting to put business before their friendship and possibly ruin both in the process.
