Jessica Simpson weighs in on the Gabourey Sidibe weight issue

Howard Stern ruffled some feathers when he spoke about Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe’s weight. Now, Jessica Simpson is weighing in on the debate, because, she, too, has been the subject of public scrutiny over her weight.

Jessica said, “I’m actually surprised somebody had the cojones to say that. I just think that’s really disrespectful. It’s unfortunate because she walked the red carpet at the Oscars and she owned it. She was beautiful. There was no denying that she did not think she was the most beautiful person on that red carpet. She was just owning that moment for herself. She had such confidence and I absolutely 100 percent think she could get anything in the world that she wants.”

      I'm sorry, but that was an incredibly disrespectful and tasteless thing to say. Some people are obese because they didn't have access to healthy foods at some point in their life, or simply because they weren't aware of the effects of unhealthy food. You don't know what type of environment Gabourey grew up in, so it's not right to criticize so bluntly. Howard Stern shouldn't be allowed on the airways, in my opinion, but that's just me. And as for you saying that people need to stop lying to her about telling her she's beautiful, that was just uncalled for.
